A woman who can’t let go. The wounded veteran who broke her heart.

The day Michael Anderson left town to join the military, is the day Reyna’s world came crashing down around her. They’d been high school sweethearts destined to walk down the aisle…until they weren’t.

Now, years later, he’s back and desperate for a second chance.

When someone tries to abduct her, Michael offers her his protection. But she worries it comes at a cost she can’t pay…her still broken heart.

Former Army Ranger Michael Anderson is good at what he does. A bodyguard for Knight Security, he’s highly sought after. So, when someone tries to kidnap the woman he still loves, Michael knows there is no one more qualified to protect her.

Unfortunately, Reyna’s trust in him was broken a long time ago. And if he’s going to earn it back, he has to do the second hardest thing he’s ever done…walk away and allow another member of his team to take the lead.

But after tragedy strikes, Michael and Reyna are pushed together once more, and this time he plans to make her see that he’s no longer the teen who walked away…but a man ready to risk it all.

For my first ever Christian romance reads (this series), I could not be more happy with these! I've recommended the series to my husband and my mom, and some more sisters in Christ. I love the faith that is shown within these books, and I kept finding myself wanting moreand wondering what was going to happen next everytime I had to stop and complete a task. Fantastic job with these amazing stories, and I can't wait to read the next one!

I cannot wait for the next book!

This installment was another solid read in the series and felt slightly stronger than the previous book, especially when it came to action and suspense. While I once again guessed who one of the “bad guys” was almost immediately, the story still managed to keep me engaged with better pacing and more tension overall.
Based on the title, I expected a stronger second-chance romance focus, but once again the enemies-to-lovers trope seemed to overshadow that theme. That said, the FMC didn’t come across as nearly as angry or jaded as the FMC in book two, which made her easier to connect with and more enjoyable to follow.
The narrators, Savanna Rivers and Jarman Day, did a fantastic job. Their performances were engaging and added depth to the characters, making the audiobook experience very enjoyable.
Even with some predictability and my ongoing frustration with the repeated enemies-to-lovers dynamic, this book kept my interest. I’m really hoping the final book moves away from that trope, as it’s my least favorite. I’m excited to continue the series and find out what’s next for Jackson and Margo.
