“What Will It Take?”
The first couple you will meet are a pair of 60-year-olds, Barbara and Doug Lawrence. Married for decades, their love has never waned. Nonetheless, over the course of the years Barbara has provided Doug with many uncomfortable situations when she did not more carefully consider her words around family members. More than once, things have had to be smoothed over, and fortunately those offended have been quite forgiving.

One day, when visiting Doug’s brother and his wife, Barbara goes too far. Upset with herself, the day has come when she decides that, age 60 or not, it is time for her to go across her husband’s knees for a long hard spanking.


“On One Condition”
Next up is a young couple, Cara Marshall and Bryce Stevens. They are students at Southern Iowa University, both with freshly earned graduate degrees in education. Very much in love, they are now free to strike out on their own, offers of teaching positions in hand.

But there is one thing that gives Bryce pause in regard to marriage. And that is Cara’s poor handling of money. When he asks what Cara’s parents did when she was younger and failed to follow matters of good behavior, she laughed and responded with a story of being paddled by her mother with a hairbrush. And how will she respond when Bryce asks if she would be willing to marry under the condition that she would be subject to the same form of discipline in their marriage?


“Do You Know Where It Is?”
Monica and Ben Silver are both 40-year-old educators, childless by choice and living a comfortable life in a small Texas city where they met years earlier as first year teachers. However, Ben has gone on to receive his credentials for being a school administrator, and when the principal retired, he was moved into that position.

Their life could not be better, but for one factor: Monica has become increasingly difficult and negative over the past three years. And as much as Ben loves her, he is finding it increasingly difficult to cope with her attitude.

On the night of their anniversary, after making love to celebrate, they are lying in bed talking when the subject of their mutual exasperation with student behavior in their school surfaces. That is when Monica comments that Ben probably wishes that the school had not done away with use of the paddle the year before he became the principal.

In a long rehearsed moment of candor, Ben decides to be frank with his lovely wife, and tells her that he would much prefer to be able to bring the retired paddle home and make use of it there.

A memorable conversation follows and continues after breakfast the following morning. The conversation has caused Monica to reassess the manner in which she has come to speak to her husband on an increasingly frequent basis. But what will they actually decide is a proper resolution to their dilemma?
