Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was born in Edinburgh on 22 May 1859 of Scottish and Irish ancestry. He studied medicine at Edinburgh University. It was called “The Captain of the Pole-Star” and was inspired by his own work as a ship’s surgeon.

The Detective that Lives On
Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle didn't know what he was creating when he began writing about Sherlock Holmes or how the famous detective would live on long after even he had killed him off in his own stories. The public loved Holmes and still does. This short iMinds listen gives us just the right amount of information to whet our appetites for going back and listening to both the older and the later Sherlock Holmes stories. Bravo!
