Reseñas editoriales

Certainly the most prominent and prolific detective in literary history, Arthur Conan Doyle's eponymous Sherlock Holmes holds the distinction of having been portrayed in more films than any other fictional character. In his heyday, Holmes was so popular that Doyle, bowing to public pressure, was forced to resurrect the character shortly after killing him off. Exploring the Holmes legend, actress Ellouise Rothwell discusses how Doyle's own biography and literary influences helped forge the character, and examines popular depictions of Holmes throughout history, including the origin of his famous deerstalker cap. The ebullient Rothwell strikes an even pace while, nevertheless, packing in a wealth of information.

The Detective that Lives On

Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle didn't know what he was creating when he began writing about Sherlock Holmes or how the famous detective would live on long after even he had killed him off in his own stories. The public loved Holmes and still does. This short iMinds listen gives us just the right amount of information to whet our appetites for going back and listening to both the older and the later Sherlock Holmes stories. Bravo! And thank you for another great informative audio!
