NT Wight at his best!
This book puts into perspective and understanding of the mission of Jesus as both the good news and the bringer of good news of God. It brings to light that which many of us growing up in the evangelical church have missed due to the wrong stories being told about who God is. It is beautifully written and at times will make you cry as you begin to grasp this good news. I would recommend this book to anybody and everybody both in the Christian faith and those who walked away because the news that they were given was not the good news Dr. Wright speaks about this book!
As for the audio, the recording and the dictation are excellent as always from this reader. His accent is so close to Dr. Wright that I often could hear his voice in the voice of the person reading.
This book is one of Tom Wrights best books, and I will come back to it time and time again to be reminded of the good news!

Worthwhile, Thought-Provoking!
I wondered whether this book would hold my attention. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. Wright presents such a compelling case for how the First Century Christians viewed the "Good News" and how so many Christians have substituted inferior definitions, resulting in a diluted, less effective Gospel. As usual, N.T.'s insights are spot on and extraordinarily rich. This book has given me much more clarity about how to answer the question of "what's so good about the good news?" I'll be rereading this to glean more wisdom from it.

Wow! What a discovery
Would you consider the audio edition of Simply Good News to be better than the print version?
Sure, although I would also do with a print version as I follow on the reader...

The opening lines .... about a person bursting through the door and shouting "Good News". That sets pace for what is to follow - what Good News is all about.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Well... I yes, the humor that N.T. Wright occasionally weaves into the stories he gives, including his experiences. He really captures the attention of the reader ... or listener, since Langton (the reader) is also well gifted in ensuring that he captures the mood of the author.

This was my first Audible.com book and I am grateful for this new "find". It is a 2015 gift to me. Kudos Audible.com
