Resumen del Editor
Let's make a deal, you and me. Let's make promises to each other. I promise to tell you my story. The whole story. I'll tell you about a boy in love with Jesus, who, at the fateful onset of puberty, realized his sexual attractions were persistently and exclusively for other guys. I'll tell you how I lay on my bed in the middle of the night and whispered to myself the words I've whispered 1000 times since: "I'm gay." I'll show you the world through my eyes.
I'll tell you what it's like to belong nowhere. To know that much of my Christian family will forever consider me unnatural, dangerous, because of something that feels as involuntary as my eye color. And to know that much of the LGBTQ community that shares my experience as a sexual minority will disagree with the way I've chosen to interpret the call of Jesus, believing I've bought into a tragic, archaic ritual of self-hatred.
But I promise my story won't all be sadness and loneliness and struggle. I'll tell you good things, too, hopeful things, funny things, like the time I accidentally came out to my best friend during his bachelor party. I'll tell you what it felt like the first time someone looked me in the eyes and said, "You are not a mistake." I'll tell you that joy and sorrow are not opposites, that my life has never been more beautiful than when it was most brokenhearted.
If you'll listen, I promise I'll tell you everything, and you can decide for yourself what you want to believe about me.

Maybe you've started wondering if this the best the single life has to offer. Joy Beth Smith says it's not - that single life doesn't have to leave you constantly waiting for real life to begin. Rock princess Lacey Sturm wants to share her journey from heartbreak to wholeness with young women. In The Mystery, Sturm helps listeners understand that any loving relationship begins with knowing your own identity in Christ. And yet, so many people have learned to define love through their own dysfunctional family, unhealthy relationships, the romances and wrecked relationships of mainstream pop culture, or, sadly, through pornography. Is it any wonder so many people end up brokenhearted, divorced, abused, abusive, or even suicidal?

Historia
In the 1990s, a “purity industry” emerged out of the white evangelical Christian culture. Purity rings, purity pledges, and purity balls came with a dangerous message: girls are potential sexual “stumbling blocks” for boys and men, and any expression of a girl’s sexuality could reflect the corruption of her character. This message traumatized many girls - resulting in anxiety, fear, and experiences that mimicked the symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder - and trapped them in a cycle of shame.

From a challenge of faith to a means of transformation: Did God really say you couldn't eat from any tree in the garden? This seed of doubt planted so long ago bears the fruit of fear on some level every day - the idea that our actions could ruin something beautiful and God might not have control over things. In What Women Fear, acclaimed writer and speaker Angie Smith admits, "Fear is a major part of my testimony," as she talks openly about significant struggles she has experienced. Giving a voice to the problem, she says, "I truly believe every single one of us struggles with some type of fear...."

Author Kevin Lowry's journey to Catholicism is fascinating, often funny, and demonstrates God's unfailing, patient love for all of us. A preacher's kid at a Catholic university, Kevin Lowry settled into a double major in beer and billiards soon followed by uncomfortable run-ins with pious students, failing grades, increasing anxiety, a missing night, and the startling realization that some fellow students actually attended Mass the morning after a party instead of sleeping it off. After getting kicked out, Kevin got his act together, got the MBA, and also got the girl.

He Speaks in the Silence is the story of Diane Comer's search for the kind of intimacy with God every woman longs for. It is a story of trying to be a good girl, of following the rules, of longing for a satisfaction that eludes us. Disappointed with all Diane had been told was supposed to fulfill her, she begged God in desperation to give her more. And he did. But first he took her through a trial so debilitating it almost destroyed what little faith she had. He let her go deaf.

There is no one whose brokenness is too broken for God. We know this is true for our friends when we want to encourage them. Yet, when it comes to the places of out innermost sense of regret, we often wonder if it is really true that God can work all things together for good for those who love Him. Angie Smith is one who was quick to encourage a friend, but struggled to believe that God could truly make something spectacular out of her brokenness and disappointments.

I'd Like You More If You Were More like Me takes on one of life's most important questions: How can I get closer to God and other people? We were created for deep connections. When people have deep connections, says John Ortberg, they win in life. When they don't have deep connections, they cannot win in life. I'd Like You More If You Were More like Me offers help in overcoming one of the biggest obstacles to making deep connections: the fact that we're so different. Different from God and different from each other.

True manhood, polished by the hand of God, is nothing short of an awe-inspiring gift to womanhood. Contrary to the vibe that a title like God’s Gift to Women gives off, this audiobook is not merely about how men can more effectively relate to women. Men can never hope to become a gift to women, until they gain a complete vision of Christ-built manhood.

Interruptions: They're aggravating - sometimes infuriating. They make us want to tell people what we think of them. But how we handle interruptions actually tell us more about ourselves. The prophet Jonah's existence was interrupted by a call of God that would require a complete change of life. And it scared him enough to make him run in the opposite direction. Yet, what seemed to him to be an unnecessary and useless interruption was really an opportunity for Jonah to be involved in something the likes of which the Old Testament world had never seen before.

The most important conversation you'll have. Why do so many of our conversations with one another lead to misunderstanding and hurt feelings? Brady Boyd turns to the example of Jesus Christ to show that the health of our conversations can be only as vibrant as the health of our interactions with God. As Proverbs says, "The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing" (Proverbs 12:18 niv).

Drawing upon the rich writings and examples of these extraordinary women, the author reveals Christianity's liberating power for women and the relevance of the saints to the lives of contemporary Christians.

Must read
This book is a primer for understanding the struggle that Christians who profess to hold to biblical norms of sexual behavior struggle with being gay. Greg is a master of telling his own story without being judgmental or compromising of the faith. Anyone who wants to support someone in the gay community with the potential of leading them to a deeper walk with Christ needs to read this book.

A must read!
I listened to this book because I became acquainted with Greg Coles and figured that if he was such a wonderful human, maybe his book would be wonderful, too. I didn't listen to this because the topic was one I particularly felt the need to study personally, though I do have a couple people in my life who are walking a similar road to Greg. What surprised me is that, despite the enormous differences in my life and in my personal struggles, this book has been an amazing encouragement to me as I walk through my own season of darkness and wrestling with my faith.
This book is of course incredibly helpful in every way if you want to better understand at least one person's experience as a gay Christian. But it's also valuable simply as an encouragement to believers to never stop seeking truth, to keep eyes fixed on Jesus even when faith is costly, and to remain expectant that God's way is always best.
I highly recommend this, both as a resource on the topic of sexuality, but also simply as a resource on the topic of faith. Greg is raw and relatable and funny, and the book never lost my attention from start to finish.

Thank you
I like the openness and simplicity of this message. The author speaks only of his convictions, based on his relationships with God and understanding of the Bible.
He makes clear that his story and experience should not be used as a tool or justification to shame or condemn other gay Christians.

Raw, yet elegant.
Had to push pause only because I needed sleep. (Darn sleep!) Otherwise, I couldn't put it down. I am amazed how the author allowed himself to be so vulnerable and personal yet make his story both accessible and relatable at the same time. As a married, straight, Christian trying his hardest to love others (all "others") better, I found this book to be incredibly insightful and love expanding!

Such great insight into a gay Christian man’s thoughts. But more than just that. It is thought provoking and life affirming and leaves me with a greater desire to truly exercise unconditional love to all people as Christ calls us to.

Beautiful!
This book was a real gift to all those who read it and are looking for genuine reflections and thoughts on the complexities of faith and sexual identity. The recording was very pleasant and excellently done. I’d recommend this to anyone who has found themselves in a struggle about their faith and sexual identity. The author is honest, compassionate and able to present his personal story and insights of his own journey while also providing a framework for those walking in similar paths full of grace and hope wherever they are. It is also helpful for those who don’t struggle with sexual identity. I found several sections of the author’s insights and perspectives to bring me into the beautiful truths about God’s goodness and mysteries again towards humanity.

How being loved for who we are brings life
Greg describes in beautifully accessible language his journey to be known, to be loved, and to give back that love as he wrestled through what it meant for him to be both gay and Christian. He shines a spotlight on the depth of relationship that is possible when we are fully known to each other, fully loved by each other while being first and foremost passionately in love with Jesus.
Greg and I have reached very different conclusions about what it looks like to love Jesus passionately as LGBTQ believers. Greg pursuing celibacy and me finding a biblical ground for same sex marriage. Yet I found myself nodding vigorously and spontaneously shouting “Yes!,” time after time as he described the depth and joy of relationship that is possible when love is allowed to lead. Relationships that drive out loneliness whether single or married. Relationships that are rich with connection and meaning and soul-stirring moments of vulnerability.
I loved his conclusion to press forward in this conversation by encouraging individuals to lean into their love for Jesus, to wrestle with the Bible, to listen for the Spirit, and to reach their own conclusion about what it means to passionately follow Jesus no matter where he leads.
Differing conclusions aside, I feel privileged to share this journey of following Jesus with Greg where love for Jesus translates daily into love for people.

To Understand - I’m grateful for this book
When I was 25 I found out a friend was gay. I peppered her with questions. She had been attracted to females and not males from her earliest memories, and she wasn’t happy about it. At all. The author approaches his sexuality the way I imagine I would if I had been born gay. This book is most appropriate for readers who are Christ-followers. Non-believers may judge the author since his reckoning of his sexual life clashes with mainstream culture. I would remind them to practice the tolerance they tend to preach.

Just the Best
This is far and away the best book I have ever read on the topic. It is a sensitive topic that Gregory handles with care and tact. I appreciate his vulnerability and candor on a topic most would just prefer to avoid. Would have been worth it at 5 credits!
