The City of Laketon, Michigan hosts a car ferry hub that crosses Lake Michigan to the city of Magawakin, Wisconsin each day. The ferry, also known as the Wolverine, crosses with a host of vehicles and passengers for the eight-hour round trip. Travelers enjoy top deck amenities such as a restaurant, movie theater, live entertainment, and fun things for kids, including a play area for children and a gaming room for teens.
Helen lived a life of fear and was determined not to back down from the angry mob chasing her. When Jude is the only person willing to stand beside her, she softens her stance against him. With his love and attention, she finally gets the strength to stand and tell her story. Unfortunately, there are no winners when the truth of her past comes to light, and she finds staying anger free and steady is the only way to win over this town and pave the path toward a bright future for her and Jude.
Jude is a fair man who believes everyone should have a shot at second chances, especially when falsely accused. He is trying to get all the heightened emotions that are going around regarding Helen to calm down. This crowd might test his long-suffering attitude though, as he stands by Helen to try and weather the brewing storm.
