Meh

I love the concept of the story, but the execution leaves much to be desired. The first and second books could have been combined. Also the protagonist seems to suddenly become dumb once she goes to the fairy realm. She doesn’t trust a person she meets in her world and then suddenly puts all her trust in that person in the fairy world. Like the foreshadowing is there so we know that person is not trustworthy so it isn’t believable that the protagonist could be that naive. And then to try and spin it so she mistrusts the person she shouldn’t - that falls flat and made me want to throw my phone. Not a ton happens to love the story forward in the ultimate quest which makes the book feel unfinished. Also, sometimes there are sentences that stick out like a sore thumb because they overuse the same words within the same sentence. It’s a cool concept and has a lot of potential, but I will leave the series at book 2. The narrator is fine for the most part.

suspenseful

Betrayals, nefarious family with ill intentions,
some friendly family, and more questions left unanswered. Things are not as they appear. More danger and ulterior motives. Suspenseful. That cat is just si uppity! lol. I voluntarily listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator was good.

Disappointed

The first in this series was good, there was a lot going on and good intro to characters. This book tho, the story line has a lot of potential but, the main character turns out to be kind of stupid. She’s supposed to be 40 and smart but acts like a teenager. Some parts of the story are contradictory to itself too.

More accidental magic

Some like it Hexed is #2 in the Accidentally Magic series by Melinda Chase. Callie, Willa and Shade travel to other realms and encounter Fae royalty, witches and other magical creatures. Lots of intrigue, mystery and adventure. The narration by Krys Janae is very good.
