Resumen del Editor

High school senior, Claire Goodnight, has nothing left to keep her in her small town. Her best friend moved away, and the grandmother who raised her is dead. Claire is biding her time until graduation so she can escape her alcoholic mother, who has never wanted anything to do with her.

Everything changes when her long-time crush, Finn, asks her out. Their first date under the stars is the best thing to ever happen to her—maybe her wishes are worthy after all.

Yet, tragedy strikes when Finn suddenly dies, and Claire is left alone once more. But when Finn magically appears as a ghost who only Claire can see, she gets a second chance at love, and they begin their romance again—in secret.

Finn's reason for staying and an unexpected connection between Claire and Finn's families ultimately unravel everything Claire thought she knew about love, loss, forgiveness, and herself.

Absolutely, timelessly sweet tearjerker.

I saw a lot of people talking about this book, all of them saying how much they cried reading it. So, as I listened to a very sweet, heartbreaking story, I found myself wondering why...Don't get me wrong, this book is impeccably written, and the story is wonderfully sweet and sad; it kept me interested to the very end...but I was wondering why people were crying because the book overall, even dealing with such heavy issues, is sweet and lovely; full of what, to me, is hope even in the midst of tragedy...Well, let me tell you, as I sit in front of my PC trying to see through my tears, that now I understand! That heartbreak built up until, by the end, my face was scrunched up, cheeks streaming with both happy and devastated tears! Trisha Larson Harmon has a way of painting a picture that feels so relatable you can see the story through the lens of your own experiences. And then she shows you a picture of lives unrealized, ones that could have been, through the eyes of someone who deserved more than the life she was given, and you can feel that pain like it's physical. This is well worth a listen, and I don't think I'll ever forget it. While it does have some mild steaminess, I would be very comfortable reccommending this book for late teens. I think they will relate to it as much as us old broads who only remember what being one felt like. The narration by the author was very well done. I did listen on 1.2 speed, since it was read a little slower than I generally listen, but since I often have to go to 1.5 speed to make myself happy, this is no slight on the narrator. (I did receive a promo code for this audiobook from the author while randomly scrolling through tiktok, but with no requirements for posting any kind of review. I rarely even leave them, but this book impacted me a lot, and I had no choice but to share.)

A heartwarming story about life, death, and love

Listening to the author narrate the book was highly enjoyable. Confession, I read the book when it first came out and saw it on audible and decided to give it a listen. Hearing the author tell the story gives a different perspective from reading it, I picked up on little details I missed when I read it. I look forward to many more books by Ms Harmon, both reading and listening to them

Beautiful & Touching

I read this book on my kindle and loved it so much, I jumped at the chance to listen to it. It's just as beautiful and touching to listen to. It did feel as though the narrator was a little monotone and with all the emotion that's in this story, it would have been nice to hear that as well.

Such a sweet story

I read this a few months ago. I enjoyed the story. Wanted to try out the audio. I do prefer duet narrations and this is the first single narration book I have listened to. Authors voice is soft and soothing. I definitely enjoyed. Very well done.

Somewhere between dandelions and birthday candles

“I will find you in another life.” 😭

I’ll be honest, YA is not my usual pick. However, this book totally blew me away. I read while also listening to the audiobook for a fully immersive experience. I’ve never listened to an audiobook narrated by the author before, but I really loved this one. Something about listening to how the author wrote it is actually really amazing.

Without any spoilers, this book is a partly sad but wholesome reminder that come what may, we’ll all be okay eventually.

Ghosts are weird

First things first I was given a copy of the audiobook for free ( I responded to her Tik Tok ) in exchange for an honest review 😊 thank you for this copy Trisha!

So 2 stars cause I don't think this is necessarily a bad book? But it's so not good. For many reasons I didn't like this.

1. Ghosts having sex with humans shouldn't happen in any story. Ever.

2. I don't see the point in Finn being a ghost honestly. He barely did anything for anyone. He sort of helped our main character find her self but....only sort of.

3. Our FMC managed to be very annoying. But oddly accepting that she after a day was dating a ghost and totally was cool with it.

4. Every character was 0-100 and that's due to the length of this. This is a novella and idk if it should have been. I don't think I'd have read it or would have DNFd it ASAP if it was a full length novel but it needed more to it.

I have no doubt some people, especially younger audience, will enjoy this and I am very happy for anyone who does.
