I very much enjoyed this Audio book. Here is why

I am an avid Audible book buyer. I have purchased over 50 audiobooks on Audible. Mostly celebrity autobiographies. But I decided to give this story a try. I loved that it takes place in the early 1990s. It takes the listener to Chicago, Detroit, LA, Hotels, Cafes, and Bars. Lots of bars. I prefer books read by the author and was happy that the author Melissa Sorrentino's narration made it fun. She is very good at voices and her mastery of giving specificity and details had me imagining this story.
The book follows not just the main character, but also many others. It covers friendship, family, LGBT subplots, marriage, divorce, adultery, forgiveness, rock and roll, romance, love, and the American Dream. The author is very skilled in her ability to paint a picture. I often times visualized this story and thought it would make a very entertaining movie!!
It had many plot twists and some scary and surprising parts that I listened to on the edge of my seat! Yes. Give this audiobook a listen!

Enjoyable Comedic Romance

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this on Audible. I’d describe it as a romance novel that appeals to people who might not otherwise read romance novels. I look forward to listening and reading more from this author. It was refreshing to hear it read by her as well. I actually listened more than once to some of the spicier portions.
