Engaging

I have lead a pretty vanilla life. I can only imagine right now that I have only a few stories. I hope that doing Homework for Life and the other exercises prove me wrong! This book is funny, engaging, and I soaked in as much as I could. I have already altered the way I engage in conversation, and I hope that I will become easier to listen to, and more inspiring to people through these techniques. Cheers to Matthew Dicks. interesting and informative

This book is good from the beginning to the end. My personal favorites were the story breaks when the author pauses in his instruction to demonstrate how to tell a great story. It's one thing to teach how to do something. It's another to show how it's done. I'm grateful for how much effort the author put into producing an interesting and informative book.

Impressive audiobook on the skill of storytelling. this was one of the best I have purchased and knew nothing about the author. I loved this whole audio book.

Practical tips and engaging stories. Already using his advice. Excellent. Couldn’t recommend more for writers and speakers.

Keep Listening

I almost returned this title, but I'm glad I stuck with it. I wanted something that corellated with novel crafting. This book mainly discussed storytelling from the perspective of a stand-up speaker, who tells true stories.

The author has written novels, but does not touch on this in his book. This book goes much deeper than any medium of storytelling; it goes to the heart of the craft, and does give fresh out-of-the-box examples you use on any medium of fiction. highly recommend

Great book! On my second time through!

I’ve been writing a book for 25 years and I just couldn’t figure out how to pull it together. I believe with the tools in this book, I will finally be able to finish it. Thank you!!!

Great tips

It is clear that the author is well-versed in storytelling and he provided wonderful tips that I will try to use. Overall very good experience. The only issue that I had was that I sometimes thought my app replayed a certain part because the exact same thing would be said, and changed or added at the end of it. Took some getting used to this feeling of deja-vu.

Amazing

Holy cow! I have listened to some good books on storytelling but none of them come close to what Matthew was able to convey. He has insights and wisdom that you should not pass up if you want to learn how to tell a story. Amazing teachings and homework!
