Resumen del Editor

Surrender, white people! After 400 years of white supremacy in America, a reckoning is here. Time to listen up, look history in the face, and surrender unjust privilege. These are the terms of peace - and they are unconditional. Hope you have a sense of humor, because this is going to sting.

The legendary activist/comedian and author of the “hilarious yet soul-shaking” (Black Enterprise) best seller How Not to Get Shot returns to address a nation on the edge of civil war.

After centuries of oppressing others, white people are in for a surprise: You’re about to be a minority yourself. Yes, the face of America is getting a lot browner - and a reckoning is coming. Black and brown folk are not going to take a back seat anymore. It’s time to lay down your unjust privileges and sue for peace while the getting’s still good. Lucky for America, D.L. Hughley has a plan.

On the eve of America becoming a majority-minority nation, Hughley warns, the only way for America to move forward peacefully is if whites face their history, put aside all their visions of superiority, and open up their institutions so they benefit everyone in this nation.

But we can still have fun with this, right?

Surrender, White People! hilariously holds America accountable for its wrongs and offers his satirical terms for reparations and reconciliation.

But it’s not all bad news, white folks. The upside is that if you put D.L.’s plan into effect, you can finally get black people to stop talking about oppression, discrimination, and their place in America. That’s something we can get behind.

Speak your mind- yes he does!

Great Audible book! Spoken just as he talks. Excellent points and humorous take, in some ways, on resolving embedded racism in the DNA of America!

This is a MUST listen- especially for White People

I’ve always enjoyed DL’s delivery and inflection, but Now I can say I am a huge fan. He’s nailed so many extremely important and overlooked points in this book that you’d have to clinically brain dead to not hear them. Many of the historical references I shamefully admit I knew a little about- but not nearly enough. Having grown up under White Privilege and in predominantly white schools- there were always questions I had about certain Historic events- but never looked further into my own questions thoroughly enough. DL has brought forth the history we ALL need to acknowledge and remember and learn from in a masterful serious book- with just the right balance of humor and sarcasm to keep it real.
Please expect my piece of paper in the mail soon sir!
Yes! I surrender (gladly)!!

I Surrender!

Amazing exposition on the myriad ways that people of color are disadvantaged in American society. A wake up call to all of the privileged among us who don't fully appreciate the extent of our privilege. Thank you D.L. Hughley for your extensive research and for presenting these horrifying facts with such humor. Should be part of every college curriculum, actually should be introduced in High School.

what really needs to be said to white people

I actually loved this book but I also learned some real history that I wasn't familiar with. D.L Hughley did an excellent job in keeping me entertained in his reading of the book, as well as the format of how it was presented in general.

Entertaining

DL always teaches me something new. This book witty and informative. It’s history that is not taught in school.
