When Susan Willis comes to stay with her wealthy sister in her old hometown in Florida, her goal is to get a job and get out as soon as possible. Having spent the past few years living in Idaho, she is not one for sunning on tropical beaches, and she doesn’t even like to swim. Susan has a seven-year-old daughter to support, and after the sudden death of her husband, Daniel, everything seems to be going downhill. Romance is the last thing on her mind.
Much to her surprise, a man named Kyle comes into her life and makes her believe in love again. Susan and Kyle went to high school together, but he is the last man she would expect to fall for. All grown up, Kyle is definitely interested in her, and he seems perfect in every way. He even lets Susan’s daughter Ella tag along with them whenever possible. But is dating Kyle the best thing for Ella? Is Susan even ready to begin dating again?
Besides, it’s been a while since high school, and they have both changed a lot. How well does Susan really know this man? Is it possible that he has as much of a past as she does?
Comparable to Emmy Eugene’s, A Cowboy and His Neighbor and with elements of Sweet Home Alabama, this story depicts the feeling of visiting home after a long time away, but in the relaxing, tropical atmosphere of sunny Florida. Read on to find out if Susan really can find love again.
