Resumen del Editor

#1 New York Times bestselling author Tessa Bailey returns with an all-new sports rom-com about a burly, surly single dad who falls head-over-hockey-stick for his quirky live-in nanny...

Tallulah is smart, vivacious, and studying to be a marine biologist. She’s also twenty-six and broke. So when Burgess, a battle-scarred hockey veteran and newly single dad, offers her a job as his live-in nanny, she jumps at the opportunity to get paid while living in a super fancy neighborhood and being around Lissa, his cool but introverted tween.

Her tween charge isn’t the only one who could use some help fitting in, though. According to…well, everyone except Burgess, he needs to get back on the dating scene, and adventurous Tallulah is just the girl to show him how. But as boundaries are slowly crossed and Burgess finds himself pulled between his daughter, who wants her parents back together, and his insane chemistry with Tallulah, a huge rift is formed, and Tallulah does the “right” thing—breaks her own heart and walks away.

Though Burgess knows it’s for the best—he’s too jaded, with too much baggage—a chance meeting, and a new push from his daughter, forces him to put everything on the line and fight to prove he learned his lessons well and is worthy of a happily ever after with Tallulah.

Heart-wrenching and Heartwarming

Oh my heart! Sir Savage and his Tallulah are an intense and sweet couple.
Tessa Bailey walks through their ups and downs and we feel every single emotion.
Her Burgess makes your heart race and blood pressure rise. I can picture this hockey clearly in my mind. Tallulah is absolutely precious. She is such a strong character, although she doesn’t know it until she spends time with Burgess.
It’s a beautiful love story with a heartbreaking issue. One of those critical problems that you’re not sure how or even if they’re going to get through.

Tessa Bailey Gold

There is nothing that I dislike about this book. Callie Dalton stepped up to the plate to cover both POVs and did a great job. She is one of my favorites. I felt the depth of feeling from both main characters. And, I love that Sig and Chloe will most likely, hopefully, get their own book in the future. There’s some spice in this one, and ooh la la! 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Enjoyed it

I liked the first book more but this story was nice to listen to and what I was hoping for with reading another one of Tessa’s novels.

Tessa Bailey Never Fails...

Tessa Bailey is one of my favorite authors, up there with Nora Roberts and Jude Deveroux for me. I loved this second book in this series more than the first book, which I devoured in a day. The big issue for me was the intonation of the narrator when she's doing the male voices, sound like they have to pull the words out of her, makes the male lead sound almost whiny. That was annoying and distracting, however, the storyline kept me going. 10/10 would recommend this book.

Needs a trigger warning

I really struggled for the first two hours to figure out why this book was bothering me so much. For starters, the tone is NOTHING like Fangirl Down which was lighthearted and flirty and unique. From Ch. 1, I was experiencing so much secondhand anxiety because it's heavily heavily implied the FMC is a domestic violence survivor. While the specific details of her trauma are revealed several chapters in, it took me that long to realize why this book just DOES NOT WORK. These two characters are just too disparate. It just isnt fun or sexy to watch the MMC heavily and instantly lusting after this young girl / thinking about her panties HOURS after she reveals the source of her trauma. While in the FMC's POV, she is seeing the world through a very graphically described lense of fear, and then we jump to the MMCs pov which is the absolute opposite. It's just gross, it's not a fun light hearted read, and had I known this was the subject matter at hand I would not have preordered this book.

In addition, where the Narrator did an AMAZING job reading fangirl down, this book feels like a total amateur reading. She stops and pauses every 6 words, reads Tahlula in a dead monotone, and no amount of increasing the spead fixes her pacing of the narration.

Im sorry to be so negative, but I just dont see how these two books fit into the same "series" except the two MMCs are pro athletes. I will be returning this credit, and wont be reading more from this author.

Very YA

From the narrating to the dialogue, and the storyline to the situations, this book is very YA (young adult). This surprised and really disappointed me since the MMC is 37 and the author is not all that young. I thought the narrator made all of the characters sound even younger and the writing sound even more immature. I kept hoping that the book would be over, alas, it was not. Finally it ended after a ridiculous and cliche time apart for the characters. Thank goodness it was over. No more of this author or this narrator for me!

Okay

There should have been a male narrator. The story was in third person pov and i found myself confused on whose chapter the pov was supposed to be set in.
