In April 1945, the Battle of Berlin marked WWII's climactic end. As Soviet forces surged into Germany, Hitler's stronghold in Berlin became the final confrontation. Stalin's armies, determined yet wearied, began the assault, gradually pushing through Berlin's fierce resistance. Amid relentless urban warfare, Berlin's defense crumbled, and the Reichstag was taken. Hitler committed suicide, and Germany's unconditional surrender followed. The battle's aftermath left Berlin devastated, ushering in a new era of Soviet influence and divided Germany.

If the Japanese were not busy fighting on another front, they would have had millions of more troops available to fight the Americans and the British. In all likelihood, World War II would have ended the same way, but it would have taken much longer and cost that many more lives.
