heaven save me from middle aged men

Typical of older Male authors the younger woman finds the older man attractive versus safe provider. Without the blight it possibly would have rated better. it might have been better

Fabulous Narration

Loved the narrator and story pretty good too if a bit long winded in parts but kept me guessing through most of the book. Loved the quirky sense of humor through the characters .

The thing I liked most about this book was the narrator’s transition between languages and the accents were just absolutely superb I thoroughly enjoyed it and the plot was one of those that you would never guess in 1 million years. I will thoroughly enjoy his other books.

compelling police procedural

The hero is a well developed character so the whole book works seamlessly around him.

Worth it !

My first book by Nick Louth which I chose on my 3 criteria; Crime mystery, UK setting( very fond of the Lake District), & colorful intimate characters that pull your investment into. This book met all 3 & I enjoyed it so much that I'm looking forward to reading the next one. Yay, found another series to dive into.

A really good listen!

This was my first book by this author. I loved how the story slowly unfolded with excellent twists and turns. I will certainly look for more by the same author!

5 Star Mystery

This British mystery gets 5 stars and holds great promise as the start of a new series. The storyline has plenty of twists and turns, along with some lifelike times when the case goes nowhere. It takes what might be a straightforward plot and keeps the police and the reader rethinking it.
The characters are interesting people, and getting to know (or loath) them is enjoyable. I look forward to meeting them again in future books in the series.
Narrator Marston York does a great job of telling the story without getting in the way - my idea of doing the job well. His only misstep is during a brief time when he channels an American accent. It actually works as a bit of comic relief.
With more than ten series titles available on Audible, I'm anticipating lots of good listening from author Nick Louth.
