Resumen del Editor

Books ten to twelve in the gripping, fast-paced crime fiction series featuring DCI Whitney Walker and forensic psychologist Dr. Georgina Cavendish.

Kill Shot

The game is over... there's nowhere to hide.

When Lenchester's most famous sportsman is shot dead, DCI Whitney Walker and her team are thrown into the world of snooker. She calls on forensic psychologist Dr. Georgina Cavendish to assist, but the investigation takes them in a direction that has far-reaching international ramifications.

Much to Whitney's annoyance, an officer from one of the Met's special squads is sent to assist. But as everyone knows... three's a crowd.

Dark Secrets

An uninvited guest... a deadly secret... and a terrible crime.

When a well-loved family of five is found dead sitting around their dining table with an untouched meal in front of them, it sends shockwaves throughout the community.

Was it a murder-suicide, or was someone else involved? It's one of DCI Whitney Walker's most baffling cases, and even with the help of forensic psychologist Dr. Georgina Cavendish, they struggle to find any clues or motives to help them catch the killer.

With a community in mourning and growing pressure to get answers, Cavendish and Walker are forced to go deeper into a murderer's mind than they've ever gone before.

Broken Screams

Scream all you want; no one can hear you...

When an attempted murder is linked to a string of unsolved sexual attacks, DCI Whitney Walker is incensed. All those women still have sleepless nights because the man who terrorizes their dreams is still on the loose.

Calling on forensic psychologist Dr. Georgina Cavendish to help, they follow the clues and are alarmed to discover the victims all have one thing in common. Their birthdays were on the 29th of February—the same date as a female officer on Whitney's team.

As the clock ticks down and they're no nearer to finding the truth, can they stop the villain before he makes sure his next victim will never scream again?

A riveting listen

The characters in this series are very real. I find myself wanting to see what happens and then wanting to start the next book. I’m looking forward to more…

Great 3 Volume set!

After listening to all of the Seb/Birdie books to date, it seemed a good idea to try another of this author's series. All 3 in the set were interesting to listen to. The narration was excellent.

This is just my personal opinion, but to me, this author's books have been so much better than some of the other "thrillers" in my Audible library. Her stories move, and keep one's interest glued to the story. As it should be. The pace doesn't flag. So many other authors have long forays into less important side stories and material that is just filler, whereas this author doesn't zigzag around, and instead keeps the thread of it going. We learn things about each of the characters, but not in a way that interrupts the flow.

So, I'll try some more of her books.

a good police procedural

writing is good and performance is brilliant.
The reader makes the characters come alive which is also a reflection of the author's characters

A s5ake out without a wire.

I regret to say this, but I do like the characters. However, Sally has a very strange understandings of both dementia and Parkerson's disease. Unfortunately, both of these illnesses run in my family. In general, neither has a rapid on set. Both can take up to 10 years, maybe more, before the symptoms start appearing. So George's father wouldn't have been an active surgeon one day and be unable to conduct a surgery the next. The author does a better characterization of Whitney's mother's symptoms progression.

I'll left it here. However, I'm making one observation. In the last book, a sting was conducted to catch the murder/rapist. The young police officer used as bait should have e had a wire! That should have been obvious! Basically that is the reason for the 3 star rating.

Does Sally Rigby have an editor or not?

I say all the rest of this as someone who has listened to 12 Cavendish+Walker books, so obviously there is something I like, but why the hell doesn't the writing get any better? Why are we still listening to murderer characters in their own chapters fully explaining who they are and why they did it? Why are we still listening to Whitney ask herself, "Was that a lie?" when she is interviewing suspects? Surely there is no reader who doesn't understand suspects lie and detectives are suspicious. Is there really no editor who can say to Sally Rigby, you need to cut the part where Walker says to Cavendish, "Call it 'good instinct' or whatever, but I don't think he did it." ???? For f***'s sake. What detective needs to direct people to understand that they use their "instinct" when they do their job? That is a major part of the job! And "instinct" is not a made-up word! You don't have to explain it. No one has ever said to Sally Rigby, "Show, don't tell." So she just tells, and it is very, very lame. The advantage is that you can tune in and out of one of her books and never lose track of what's happening. You're not going to miss something subtle. So if you just listen to books as a way to give your brain a place to land in between other tasks, Sally Rigby is for you.
