If you’re struggling to stay on top of your to-do list, you probably have a good reason: anxiety, fatigue, depression, ADHD, or lack of support. For therapist KC Davis, the birth of her second child triggered a stress-mess cycle. The more behind she felt, the less motivated she was to start. She didn’t fold a single piece of laundry for seven months. One life-changing realization restored her sanity—and the functionality of her home: You don’t work for your home; your home works for you.

During her multi-book investigation into understanding human nature, Gretchen Rubin realized that by asking the seemingly dry question “How do I respond to expectations?” we gain explosive self-knowledge. She discovered that based on their answer, people fit into Four Tendencies: Upholders, Questioners, Obligers, and Rebels. Our Tendency shapes every aspect of our behavior, so using this framework allows us to make better decisions, meet deadlines, suffer less stress, and engage more effectively.

Resumen del Editor
Fans of The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo and The Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin will love The Clutter Connection by organization expert Cassandra Aarssen.
An organization book for diverse habits
"You're not messy, you just organize differently." The Clutter Connection examines and explains the correlation between brain types and how they directly relate to organization and clutter. Cassandra Aarssen smashes the stereotype that some people are "naturally messy" and offers listeners insight and real-life solutions based on their unique personal organizing style. The Clutter Connection will help you get organized, be more productive, and finally understand the why behind your clutter.
Individualized real-life organizing
Organizing isn't one size fits all. Let go of the preconceived and conventional notions of what organization looks like and finally discover what Clutterbug you are. With self-awareness comes happiness, personal growth, and lasting change.
The Clutter Connection examines the four different organizing styles and how they relate to each other; how motivation and happiness can be directly affected by our space; the "3P's" - productivity, procrastination, and perfectionism - and how they are connected to your unique organizing style; and how you can finally become clutter-free simply by knowing yourself better.

We are exhausted. There's so much to do, and way too much to buy. Whether it's through late night TV ads, social media, or other sources of influence, we seem to be addicted to buying and then storing things. Sometimes we consume with no regret and other times we realize that we're doing more harm than good to our wallets and our homes. It's a constant cycle - one that many are longing to break. Who wants their hard-earned money to go toward something that soon ends up in a landfill?

Finally, a housekeeping and organizational system developed for those of us who'd describe our current living situation as a "f--king mess" that we "really need to get around to fixing one day". Unf--k Your Habitat is for anyone who has been left behind by traditional aspirational systems - the ones that ignore single people with full-time jobs, people without kids but living with roommates, and people with mental illnesses or physical limitations. Most organizational books are aimed at stay-at-home moms and people who seem to have unimaginable amounts of free time.

Learning the way people organize is the first thing that ever has had any lasting impact on our home. My husband is a cricket and I am a butterfly (with bee project mess tendencies). We have been living in a cluttered home for 17 years. We just couldn't figure out what was going to work. I have read countless books searching for the answer but noting ever worked until I stumbled upon o YouTube video of the bug styles which lead me here. We finally have momentum and I know in time, which this new knowledge, we will get the whole house under control. Thanks so much!

Insightful
This should be the first book read before beginning an organizing project because it helps a person identify their particular organizing style. Once that style is identified, you can move forward with researching an organizing system that matches your style. You'll save money!

LOVE
This book was such a game changer for me. It helped me understand why traditional organizing doesn’t work for me and why the few areas in my home that stay organized, are working. It’s also helped me to understand my families organizing needs better and helped me to figure out compromises so that we all feel relaxed and happy in a clutter free space.

Brilliant concept well explained
listen at 1.5 or higher because of narration but excellent content. not so much a how to book as a "why come" book 😉, reader is still left with actionable advice and moreover the inspiration and hope to try again. was aware of her clutter bug concept before and had struggled to identify with it, but listening to the full book really helped.
