A Lost Art

Letter writing! What a way to tell a tale, express oneself and live. Thoroughly enjoyed all the action and character development achieved through correspondence. Audio was amazing!

What a story!

It is such a surprise this worked but I absolutely fell into the story and the lives of the characters in this book.

Wow!

The narration was absolutely FABULOUS! Maggi-Meg Reed, the main narrator, is so, so incredibly talented! She and the other gifted narrators brought the book and each character to life in a way that I am not sure it would have if I had just read it. By the end, I was in tears. This book, the characters and the narration will stay with me for a very, very long time!

You will fall in love with this book.

I haven’t been this connected to a book character in a long time. I cried when the last chapter ended. One of the most beautifully written books I have ever read.

Wonderful Listen

A complex story told solely thru correspondence. Well drawn characters, fully fleshed out who suffer the human condition with dignity, while suffering human frailties, like aging.
I especially enjoyed all the book references: "What are you reading?", and the authors who responded to her correspondences.
Perfect narration as well.

Highly recommend.

Beautiful Story

Loved this book. It was written, and read, beautifully. It was sad, but worth the cry.

The Correspondent Is A Gentle Story About Life And Death

I am 82 and my life has many similarities to this audiobook. And that the author’s name is Evans, so is my name at birth. I also am a journalist and have traveled widely including Indonesia, China and Russia. My husband is in Hospice now. So I know sadness but I also have children and now two grandsons one in college. Of course, I am proud of them and their parents. I hope this author continues to publish more books.

A Wonderful Journey

Wow. I loved every moment of this listen. Wonderfully drawn characters, many of whom brought a surprise. I will miss hearing from Sybil. I’m eager for Ms. Evans’ next book!
