When the inner circle of President John F. Kennedy conspires to assassinate him, they turn to organized crime and the very powerful New York City based LaCasa crime family to get the job done. Irish/Italian mobster Jimmy Fallen came out of World War Two a disillusioned man and followed the career path of his father as a hit man for organized crime. Scarred by years of fighting in the war, Fallen’s existence is bleak and lonely. However, his professional services are highly sought after and he lands the prize of contracted hits when Tommy LaCasa hands him the assassination of President Kennedy. To Fallen, it’s just another well-paying job and he methodically goes about the task of planning the murder of the President. It’s a time consuming and meticulous process that demands Fallen’s full attention. Until Hannah, a beautiful Jewish woman who survived a Nazi concentration camp as a child enters his life through a chance encounter. Hesitant and shy at first, Hannah slowly warms to Fallen and a budding relationship begins. As their relationship deepens, Fallen discovers what has been missing from his dreary existence, the love of a good woman. As their love grows, Fallen begins to lose his desire to complete his assignment. For the first time in his career, he reneges on a contract, but it’s a dangerous game to play with the mob. LaCasa can’t afford to allow Fallen to live and dispatches a hit squad to kill Fallen and Hannah, and the hit man is now the target. Set against the backdrop of the Bronx neighborhood known as The Real Little Italy, the story is filled with rich neighborhood characters, family, plot twists, humor, romance and danger and insight into the mind of a lonely hit man.
