A delightful listen

This is my second time enjoying this story, having previously read the Kindle version. This was really a delightful listen, and reminded me how much I appreciated The Earl's Lady Geologist the first time. Interestingly, by listening rather than reading, I felt more of the emotional side of the story. When I read the book, I was more struck by the historical aspects of women in the sciences at the time, the nature of the region and the fossil finds, of course also appreciating the love story and adventures of our hero and heroine. The audio version I felt elicited more understanding for the fears of Cassy, as well as the struggle of Rothbury to acknowledge his feelings and then in turn to be patient with Cassy. I was again impressed by this wonderful tale- its bit of danger and adventure, plus a charming love story and the very interesting backdrop of Lyme Regis with its many geological attractions. Virginia Ferguson did an admirable job with the narration, and I especially appreciated her depiction of Rothbury. My thanks to the author for a gratis audio copy!
