The quadrant is burning. Violent, deadly uprisings are breaking out, seemingly at random, all across the Confederation's sphere of influence. The response by the powerful Confederation Fleet has been swift and decisive, but for every planet they restore order to, another erupts into chaos. What do you do when you're accidentally kidnapped from planet earth in a spaceship? Escape your captor, rescue people in trouble, and kick some ass along the way?
Yes, please!
This is one of my favorite science fiction series of all time. It's fun, witty, ridiculous, and the characters are absolutely fantastic.
Paul Heitsch delivers time and again in each book of this series. He is able to impart a distinct characteristic and tone of voice for each of the many different types of characters and peoples.
I sincerely hope to see many more books in this series for years to come.

I love OF, I really do, but Dalzelle needs a plan.
It's fairly apparent that, while he is a good story writer, Dalzelle has very little in the way of skill when it comes to planning a series. Frequent recycling of plot elements and devices really breaks up the feeling of an advancing storyline.

The Enemy Within
This book and the whole series is some of the best military science fiction I've listened to in quite a while

Enjoyable story
This was an engaging story with some painfully obvious story points that left me screaming "what are you thinking" in my head. All in all a good continuation of the series although I worry about the growing arrogance of Capt Jason.
