Why has psychoanalysis long been kept at the margins of environmental criticism despite the theories of eco-Marxism, queer ecology, and eco-deconstruction available today? The Environmental Unconscious offers a provocative challenge to ecocriticism that a new theory of disconnection is desperately needed.
