You may think you don’t have the time or the money to start a big permaculture project. But permaculture doesn’t need to be overwhelming. You can start as small as you like, and you can move at a pace that suits you. Don’t feel you have to learn everything in one go and rush out to transform a whole wilderness in a year. Just deal in manageable chunks, and you’ll do just fine. Even if all you have done is tend to a few tomato plants on your window ledge, you can become an expert gardener; all it takes is a little time, patience, and practice.

Have you ever desired, deep within your soul, to make a comfortable full-time living from a farming enterprise? Too often people dare not even vocalize this desire because it seems absurd. It's like thinking the unthinkable. After all, the farm population is dwindling. It takes too much capital to start. The pay is too low. The working conditions are dusty, smelly and noisy: Not the place to raise a family. This is all true, and more, for most farmers.

When we use chemical fertilizers, we injure the microbial life that sustains plants and then become increasingly dependent on an arsenal of toxic substances. Teaming with Microbes offers an alternative to this vicious circle and details how to garden in a way that strengthens, rather than destroys, the soil food web. You’ll discover that healthy soil is teeming with life - not just earthworms and insects, but a staggering multitude of bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms.

Call it "Zen and the Art of Farming" or a "Little Green Book", Masanobu Fukuoka's manifesto about farming, eating, and the limits of human knowledge presents a radical challenge to the global systems we rely on for our food. At the same time, it is a spiritual memoir of a man whose innovative system of cultivating the earth reflects a deep faith in the wholeness and balance of the natural world. As Wendell Berry writes in his preface, the book "is valuable to us because it is at once practical and philosophical."

Resumen del Editor
How to build and live a sustainable life on your property and in your garden without having to hire an expensive contractor, even if you have no idea on what permaculture is.
Permaculture is about designing sustainable human settlements. It is a philosophy and an approach to land use which weaves together micro-climate, annual and perennial plants, animals, soils, water management, and human needs into intricately connected productive communities.
In this audiobook, you will discover:
- How to create a healthy environment for yourself and your family
- How permaculture design is a way to take back control over your life
- The environmentally friendly and cost-saving techniques that will make designing your property easy and beneficial
- How to create sustainable landscaping that will have a positive impact on your environment and your health.
- And so much more!
Permaculture isn't just growing food in the backyard. It is designing a system that uses nature as a tool to provide year-round food and shelter. Every time we design a garden, we are creating our own piece of the ecosystem.
Interest in permaculture has been growing, and it's no surprise - permaculture is something that we can take with us wherever we go, and it doesn't take up a lot of space. The techniques are applicable all over the world and can be used to grow just about anything.
You can design that outdoor oasis that you deserve by using the essentials of permaculture.
If you want to learn the essentials of permaculture and live a sustainable life, buy this audiobook now!

We live in a world of seeds. From our morning toast to the cotton in our clothes, they are quite literally the stuff and staff of life, supporting diets, economies, and civilizations around the globe. Just as the search for nutmeg and the humble peppercorn drove the Age of Discovery, so did coffee beans help fuel the Enlightenment and cottonseed help spark the Industrial Revolution. And from the fall of Rome to the Arab Spring, the fate of nations continues to hinge on the seeds of a Middle Eastern grass known as wheat.

Every country in the world has a special relationship with wine and takes a unique approach to the making, serving, and enjoying of it. Wine is an expression of the hopes, dreams, and cultures of the people who make it, so what better way to learn about the countries of the world than by learning about their wines?

Historia
In A Good Horse Is Never a Bad Color, Mark Rashid continues to share his talent for training horses through communication rather than force. Rashid uses humorous, feel-good stories to relate his techniques of teaching horses by examining their view of the world. This book is a must-have for compassionate horse trainers and owners. Tales of Arabs, appaloosas, and paints - mistrusted and mistreated because of their breed - will give listeners a new perspective on these breeds and others.

A Natural History of North American Trees gives us a picture of life in America from its earliest days to the middle of the last century. The information is always interesting, though often heartbreaking. While Peattie looks for the better side of man's nature, he reports sorrowfully on the greed and waste that have doomed so much of America's virgin forest.

Historia
Many horse trainers, even those who espouse the so-called natural horsemanship approach, take the position that horses who fail to obey a human's request are doing so as much out of perversity as ignorance. That's not Mark Rashid's view. In his words, "If we understand that horses can't separate the way they feel from the way they act, then we can start to see that unwanted behavior isn't bad behavior at all. More times than not, it's just the horse expressing the way he feels at that particular moment in time....

Permaculture basics
Still trying to figure out who this book is for. Would anyone who knows the the word "permaculture" not know the basics of photosynthesis? This is something taught in the 5th grade here in the US. If you can get past the overarticulated narration, in this book you will find many extremely basic principles like that. Not saying anything was wrong in the book, but it certainly doesn't cover any new information. There are much better permaculture books on audible than this one. My bad for not listening to the sample, the narration was difficult to listen to.
