It's 2004, and when a big global bank is rocked by a data leak, management do the only thing they know to do, call in the police. And Stephen Holmes.
But the young lawyer, having earned his nickname The Scourge of the City for chasing down wayward bankers, has another thing on his mind. A young doctor by the name of John Watson.
Determined to prove that he alone can solve the case, prevent the police from arresting the wrong person, keep his eye out for any remnants of M'Oriarti's criminal organization, and... meet someone who can be his moral compass, Holmes will be forced to use all his skills, both intellectually and socially, to succeed. Yes, you know... those skills.
This novella, which takes us back to the very beginning of Holmes and Watson's relationship, reintroduces Holmes’s feisty PA Mrs Hudson, droll academic Dr Martin Roche, and bemused restaurateur Todd Mitchell, all who lend Holmes their particular talents to help him bring the guilty to justice.
