This sets into motion a showdown between two old rivals for her hand in marriage, as Harold An Wolf (a gentleman) is in love with her. This destructive rivalry leads to adventures on the high seas and a love story that spans oceans and continents.
Who will win in this love rivalry? Will Stephen Norman marry Leonard, or will Harold win the day, or will she choose a path without either of them?
If you enjoyed the classic romance in Dracula, then you will love this novel by the king of Gothic, Bram Stoker. His most famous works include The Lair of the White Worm, The Lady of the Shroud, and The Snake's Pass.

a good deep romance
Stoker did an excellent job in this novel of writing a romance that involved both deep emotions but also great controversy the only complaint I have is that the end is too abrupt ending right when happiness is found wish them being happy together had dragged on for a few long chapters.
