Addictive

Pros:
- The author really does a great job in character development, you really care about them.
- The story is almost prophetic insofar as current geopolitics.
- The accuracy in terms of the realism is second only to Tom Clancy. I appreciated even the smallest details, especially as a USMC vet who served in the same kind of unit, even the same division, as the main character did in his tour in Afghanistan. Everything down to the types of weapon systems and their capabilities. *The only error is the that Parris Island has a “jump master” who taught the main character on High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) jumps. Parris Island is a recruit training depot and does not do specialized training of this sort. This is a small detail that overall does not detract at all from the story. Everything else was spot on in terms of realism.
- Exceptionally addictive, all the plot lines are captivating as are the characters.

Cons:
- The narrator does a great job, really he does. He is clear and convincing, in all but one area. His accents at times seem to be a bit off, for example the main characters father in law is Hispanic and his accent at times seems slightly Russian. At one point an Estonian comes across as slightly Scottish. Other than this, the narrator was fantastic!

Overall:
- My only complaints are very minor and will not detract in any way from the story. I highly recommend it. Joel C. Rosenberg is on his game and this story is as good as his trilogy about the Twelfth Imam. Even better, this story is setting up for another book and I can’t wait until its released!

I love Joel Rosenberg's books! This one did not disappoint at all! from beginning to end the story, plot development, action, suspense was AWESOME!!! I literally did not want this book to end! Just get it... you'll see what I'm talking about!!!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THIS BOOK!

This is my 2nd Joel C. Rosenberg novel (the first being Escape from Aushwitz) and i feel comfortable saying he's one of my favorite authors. This has action, heart, suspense and some laughs whenever Rosenberg takes characteristics from Trump and Putin to describe the fiction leaders of USA and Russia. by then end i was on the edge of my seat with anticipation. Rosenberg knows how to write a thriller.

Really strong story, excellent character development. The author pulled me in and got me hooked, I couldn’t stop listening. Can’t wait to read more from this author.

A good start to a new series.

This was another solid book by this author that I enjoyed and would recommend. There were some elements of the plot that seemed far fetched but it kept me engaged and entertained. I suspected there would be other installments with this lead character because it seemed some plot threads were not fully wrapped up in the end. The ending did feel abrupt and I'm not sure if I missed something or if we just didn't find out what happened to a few characters. Overall a good book and performance.

Riveting story. Couldn't put it down!

I loved that this book is clean enough to let my kids listen, and yet so exciting that my husband and I couldn't wait to turn this on each evening. The only gripe I have is that now I have to buy the next book. I can't bear to not know the end. 😁
