Father Stanley Rother’s story answers these questions. Going to Guatemala in 1968 as a missionary, he enabled poor farmers to find a new and prosperous way of life. As he brought hope, the government feared his influence as the Army sought to destroy the indigenous people. Standing for his faith, Father Stanley knew he was on their death list and yet he stayed to the end.
His story offers renewed courage and insight in standing for the highest while being faced with personal destruction. Father Stanley Rother was and is a man for our time.
