Resumen del Editor

Education is in bad shape in America and beyond today. It’s obvious. Everyone perceives it. Something is going badly wrong in our schools. Our children aren’t learning as they should be. Their mastery of core academic curriculum like reading, writing, history, mathematics, science, and civics has declined to crisis levels and shows no signs of improvement. Meanwhile, they’re all learning to be activists, turning their backs on their nations, societies, and even their parents and religions. Instead of correcting course, school curricula keep veering into “social and emotional learning (SEL),” Critical Race Theory, cultural competence, culturally relevant education, Queer Theory, Radical Gender Theory, Comprehensive Sexuality Education, decolonizing the curriculum, and even drag queens.

What’s going on? The answer is simple. Their education has been stolen from them. Activists have spent the last 40 to 50 years taking over education and transforming it into something different: not mere indoctrination but brainwashing. The transformation of education from education to neo-Marxist thought reform follows significantly from the work of a Brazilian Marxist by the name of Paulo Freire, who is little-known outside of South America and colleges of education. In this book, The Marxification of Education, James Lindsay, founder of New Discourses, breaks down the contents and impact of Freire’s disastrous work so that you can understand it and, hopefully, put a stop to it.

James Lindsay is an author, internationally recognized speaker, and the founder and president of New Discourses. He is best known for his relentless criticism of "Woke" ideology, the now-famous Grievance Studies Affair, and his best-selling books including Race Marxism and Cynical Theories, which has been translated into over a dozen languages. In addition to writing and speaking, Lindsay is the voice of the New Discourses Podcast and has been a guest on prominent media outlets including The Joe Rogan Experience, Glenn Beck, Fox News, and NPR.

This should be mandatory reading in citizenship, civics and humanities courses.

Excellent primer on the underpinnings of how to capture language, foment doctrinal extremism through the pretext of liberally progressive secularism. This book sheds light on the state sponsored ecumenical movement sweeping across the land providing clear forensic analysis for what state sponsored ecclesiastical tyranny looks like hiding in plain sight as a secular education movement.

Revealing explanation of what is wrong in modern culture.

Loved the thorough research and explanation casting back 40 years up the slippery slope we are on since the fall in the Garden. It is beyond obvious what is happening, and this detailed explanation highlights a lot of the context.

Documenting the horrifying reality of the ideological origins of modern education

Dr. James Lindsay, a leading expert on social constructivist critical studies, explains in this carefully researched book how modern education has been influenced by the brazilian marxist ideologue Paulo Freire and his theory of education. By extensive quotes from Freire’s main works such as Pedagogy of the Oppressed, and The Politics of Education, the author makes it easy to understand how Freire’s method works and what its is set out to achieve.

Freire aims at making people realize how they are oppressed, so that they can learn to read the political realities of their lives and have their social consciousness raised. Freire has a method of turning situations where people learn to read into discussions where people learn to read their lives politically. This is how seemingly innocuous tools and settings can be used to turn people into political activists.

For Freire the goal of education is not to make people competent and productive in the society, as for him the current social order is pathological and oppressive. Thus education doesn’t have a focus on equipping people to understand, analyze and build on their social and physical surroundings. Rather the focus will be on turning people into social and political revolutionaries.

Lindsay also goes on to show how this Freirean pedagogy has infiltrated the modern school system, and how it predictably produces unskilled political activists.

Crisis in our schools

The most worrying part of this book is that an entire generation of teachers have been taught to create activists instead of subject matter. This means the teachers at your local school not only think that they’re right in teaching the way they do (Marxist ed) but that they know better than parents and feel emboldened by the credential.
