What can I say. The woman was annoying. She is supposed to be a scientist but behaved like an idiot. A bit more character development would be nice. More story instead of just filling the book with sex scenes.

I have only read one other series with merman. And it was nothing like this one.

Yes. Rebecca does a fantastic job of narrating.

Love in the Abyss

Bridget just wants to study the ocean. Then the boat she is on gets destroyed. When she is rescued by Caderyn, she never thought she would fall in love with a Mer-man.
I really liked this book and am looking forward to the next one in the series. Rebecca Cook did an awesome job narrating this.

Caderyn and Bridget

This is the first book in the Lords of the Abyss series. It has a creative storyline with characters, most of them, that are easy to like. Bridget is an independent young woman, a scientist, and needs a purpose. Caderyn is a little bit in love with Bridget from the start, and tries to be patient and understanding. Watching their relationship grow is a treat. This story has plenty of action, a bit of danger, steamy romance, some laughs, and an unexpected and happy ending. Rebecca Cook’s did a great job narrating the story. I received this book via BookSprout and am voluntarily reviewing it.

great story

i liked the story overall. but the heroine got on my nerves at times. i would recommend thos book.

Fun, sexy story!

I wasn't quite sure what I was getting into when I started this story, and now I can't wait to listen to the next one in the series! Definitely would recommend this series to anyone who isn't squeamish about erotic scenes, as there are quite a few.

The Mighty Hunter Lords of the Abyss, Book 1

This is Book 1 of Lords of the Abyss. This is a story for Caderyn and Bridget. This one was not my cup of tea. I got this book hoping it to be more filled with attention getting attraction and adventures but I just lost the appeal half way through the book. I finished it but was so disappointed in the first half of the book that I was not truly into the book by the time I finished it. I know this is the first book and maybe the next book will be better. Michelle M. Pillow has written great books that I can not put down. I loved her other books. This book was just too much of a slow burn for me to really get into it. But I am sure there are readers out there that will disagree with me.

Adventurous, fun and flirty easy listening

What a great listen! I love a good audio book when I am traveling. This one did not disappoint! The narrator was on point and the book itself was so well structured. So much so that I finished the book once I reached my destination because I couldn’t turn it off.
Bridget is a scientist who has always dreamed of studying the sea. So along with a team of other researchers and scientists she was making her dreams come true.
Caderyn the mighty hunter and his people have made it their mission to keep the seas safe but they cannot always save everyone.
Making it a priority to save women first the Mer have tried to save as many from the research vessels as they could. But they don’t always survive the long journey to the Mer world of Atlantes.
Though the protagonist Bridget gets a little aloof with Caderyn and annoying at times the overall story was aptly written. The world of Atlantes was so well thought out that I felt like I was there.
If you want to immerse yourself into a world of Mermen and Mermaids along with a new new take on the lost city of Atlantas then you will enjoy this audio book.
I loved that the narrator immerses you into the world from the very beginning. Because it is so well written you will want to listen from beginning to end.

Cool Mer World with a Hot Romance

Would you consider the audio edition of The Mighty Hunter to be better than the print version?

The narrator did an excellent job, and brought the story to life.

Which character – as performed by Rebecca Cook – was your favorite?

Caderyn is my favorite. The performance for him brought out his strength and his bit of childish wonder.

I loved that this book is about Mer people! It was awesome that the setting was in a city deep in the ocean, and I liked the story that went along with why the Mer are there. Bridget is a scientist on a boat, who has dreams of studying the deep sea, when her boat is attacked, and she is taken to an underwater city by a Merman named, Caderyn. Caderyn is a fine Mer specimen, but Bridget is really unsure about being in this Mer kingdom. Caderyn feels an attraction to Bridget, and has hopes that Bridget will choose him to be mates with. Bridget doesn't handle any of this well, and I was really getting ticked off at how inconsiderate she is, and for a scientist, she makes a lot of stupid decisions, assumes way too much about how she is going to be treated without any evidence to make her think that way, and flies off the handle, so she comes across as bitchy and rude. Caderyn does put her in her place at times, which I was definitely happy about! She definitely needed to be brought down a peg. That's really my only critique, well, there is also all the butt talk that I could've done without, and also the pleasure nymph scene; I would've been happier if it was just eluded to, but the rest of the book was interesting and fun. The sex scenes were hot, and it was lots of fun to see how the Mer people live, and it was cool to see the landscapes in the Mer world. I like that there is a bit of adventure in this book, and the story is unique. Caderyn is a sweetheart, who is a Saint for putting up with Bridget. Bridget does have her moments, and Caderyn and her do have some really sweet moments. This is the first book I have read by Michelle M. Pillow, and I would love to read more! I'm looking forward to the next book in this series! I also listened to the audiobook of this story, and I think the narrator did an excellent job! She even did the moans during the sex scenes!

Wonderful merman/maid series starter!

I really enjoyed this audio book. It lasted for days of me driving and I found the story very entertaining. It was definitely steamy in many places and I really liked the characters, though Bridgett definitely got on my nerves with her actions towards Caderyn. She seemed very rude a lot and kind of stubborn. I really liked some of the other side characters as well and can't wait to read more of this stories to find out what happens to those couples. Definitely a recommendation.
