Resumen del Editor
A GLORIOUS SHERLOCK HOLMES-INSPIRED MYSTERY FOR FANS OF NITA PROSE AND JANICE HALLETT.
'A page-turning cosy crime delight, with a fearless heroine and a twisty mystery at its heart, full of humour, drama, revelations and romance' – KATIE MARSH
London, 1932. A young maid steps onto a train… and disappears. Her desperate family writes to the only person they can think of to help: Sherlock Holmes. A shame then, that Detective Holmes isn’t real. But then, from a basement beneath 221b Baker Street, someone replies…
Harriet White knows responding to the maid’s family could land her in hot water, but she’s no stranger to trouble. It was refusing to cow to her handsy boss that saw her demoted to the postal department of their Baker Street head office in the first place. Her new job is to work through the mountain of correspondence addressed to the street’s most famous resident. But when this letter catches her eye, she knows she must do something to help the missing girl.
Harriet decides to act as Holmes’ new assistant, armed with only her love of Conan Doyle’s stories to guide her. But can she solve the case of the missing maid? Or does she risk losing her job – or much, much more – in the process?

Historia
It was 1970 in a defeated Rhode Island fishing town. Vietnam and Nixon dominated the national news. Both the near and distant future looked bleak. But they were five inseparable high school friends with something incredible in common: an unwavering resolve to look after each other no matter what hell life threw at them. And they were on a mission. The plan was simple: Go off the grid before they turned 18 to avoid the draft. They’d sell some grass, stack some cash, then head west and start a commune. What could possibly go wrong?

Three months ago, Tansy Bloom quit monster hunting. Since then, she’s been trying to live a normal life (whatever that means), but ending up single, unemployed, and living on a boat outside her godfather’s pub definitely wasn’t part of the plan. So, when Tansy’s ex-husband – fellow monster hunter Rex Barclay – turns up like a bad penny and asks for her help with his latest investigation, Tansy reluctantly agrees. At first, the job appears to be a straightforward monster hunt – following a spate of large creature sightings, Rex believes a werewolf is on the loose in Norfolk.

Historia
In The Worst of You, just-wed architects Timo and Nia flee a murder scene, setting in motion a chain reaction of lies and betrayals that threaten to unravel everything they have built together. Twisted and propulsive, this thriller is told from the alternating perspectives of the couple and those close to them on Williwaw Island, each with their own motive to use the outcome of the murder case to their advantage. When a huge storm sweeps up the coast, trapping everyone on tiny Williwaw Island, it’s a race against time—and the elements — to stop the murderer from striking again.

Historia
December 1903: While Wilbur and Orville Wright's flying machine is quite literally taking off in Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, with its historic fifty-seven second flight, their sister Katharine is back home in Dayton, Ohio, running the bicycle shop, teaching Latin, and looking after the family. A Latin teacher and suffragette, Katharine is fiercely independent, intellectual, and the only Wright sibling to finish college. But at twenty-nine, she's frustrated by the gender inequality in academia and is looking for a new challenge. She never suspects it will be sleuthing . . .

Historia
In 1660, Amsterdam is the trading and map-printing capital of the world. Anneke van Brug is one of the colorists paid to enhance black-and-white maps for a growing number of collectors. Her artistic talent brings her to the attention of the Blaeu printing house, and she begins to color for a rich merchant, Willem de Groot. But Anneke is not content to simply embellish the work of others; she longs to create maps of her own. Cartography, however, is the domain of men - so it is in secret that she borrows the notes her father made on a trip to Africa in 1642 and sets about designing a new map.

It's 1838, and May Bedloe works as a seamstress for her cousin, the famous actress Comfort Vertue - until their steamboat sinks on the Ohio River. Though they both survive, both must find new employment. Comfort is hired to give lectures by noted abolitionist Flora Howard, and May finds work on a small flatboat, Hugo and Helena's Floating Theatre, as it cruises the border between the northern states and the southern slave-holding states.

New exciting plot twist!
I am a voracious listener of Cozy Mysteries so I have heard so many familiar story lines but this one is new to me : the secretary of Sherlock Holmes! I'm not going to give a summary of the book because I want the readers to be surprised with this great plot twist! Enjoy, fellow readers! It will be worth every minute!

Enjoyed it very much!
A good listen, the narration was excellent, the writing and the characters made it worthwhile. I would listen to more titles by this author. There was nothing too gory, and the main characters were admirable. The only detractor for me was that the pace was slower than I like. However, it kept my interest throughout. For me, I prefer a little more action as we go, and a more taut pacing of the story.
