Definitely will be looking for the next book in the series.
Not the best I have ever read but real solid.

Definitely worth reading if you’re into fantasy.

best necromancer story

I have been looking for a good necromancer story that actually used a really good magic system and how the world really reacts to magic.

Good campy fun

Not overly gory, funny and fun, with a few surprises. Just an adventure with an unexpected protagonist.

The single greatest book ever written

But I might be biased cause I wrote it. But my mom assures me that I'm right!

An absolute blast of a ride!

I just finished the audio book and I really enjoyed it start to finish. Felt very much like an incredible D&D adventure with good plot twists and fun characters.

The narration in the audio book was very good. Distinct characterization and great quality overall.

I want to see more of these characters. In particular I enjoyed Bruno and Deliliah two of the secondary characters who have well developed and fun personalities in very different ways. I am excited to see more development in Jeremiah as he continues on his journey. Being a necromancer and a sympathetic lead character is hard to do but he does it. Also Jeremiah’s mentor Flusoh is the absolute best minor character.

I will definitely be reading the rest of the series when it comes out!

an excellent story reduced to ruin by an incompetent MC.

I don't know what the recent trend is with writing and competent idiotic and inept MCS but it needs to stop. it is an unfortunate fact that this amazing story is absolutely ruined by the sheer level of incompetence demonstrated by the MC. his blunders just absolutely pull me from the story and reduce the potentially great work to something I will likely never listen to again.

I understand that some people want to demonstrate growth in an MC. I get it and if it's done well it works see edge of tomorrow, overgeared, berserk and many others for how to properly address that method. this story however serves as a perfect example of what not to do.

If you are a D&D fan, this book is for you!

As a long-time D&D player, I felt right at home while listening to this novel. We, as players, recently realized that not all bugbears and goblins are evil. The author challenges the notion that all Necromancers are evil. I very much enjoyed the party dynamics in this book and the nuance to the magic as the MC learns the ropes. I highly recommend this book.

Great party adventure!

An addicting party adventure that was easy to be drawn into. The struggle of being a ‘good’ necromancer was fun to follow along with. The side characters all had their own personalities, and the dialog was well done. Looking forward to the next book!

Overt systematic inequality and oppression is upheld by a plucky Necromancer and his kindhearted friends by betraying a victim of said system and cosigning them to eternal imprisonment and torture. This story embodies the stance that the status quo is not worth disrupting because some good individuals exist within the inequality and oppression.
