San Francisco's Laguna Honda Hospital is the last almshouse in the country, a descendant of the Hôtel-Dieu (God's hotel) that cared for the sick in the Middle Ages. Ballet dancers and rock musicians, professors and thieves - "anyone who had fallen, or, often, leapt, onto hard times" and needed extended medical care - ended up here. So did Victoria Sweet, who came for two months and stayed for 20 years. Excellent Narration!
Any additional comments?
The narration comes off easily and is extremely engaging. Simply, it was an awesome reading, with a voice reminiscent of a young Bill Clinton voice with a Kennedy hue. The story is quite well written. I am an architect who does a lot of VA work and the story seems very much in line with the VA's I am familiar with. Definitely worth it!

What did you love best about The Nurse?
Well written, with humour and compassion. I work in the field, in a downtown hospital (across from the one in the book) and can strongly relate to this novel. Another thriller from a great author!!!
