Augermore’s capital city looms ahead and just beyond that is Palace Van Ness, not only King Viktor’s ancestral home but the location of the final types of Magic that must be collected.
But those types of Magic are unlike any Jeremus has encountered so far, heavier and more dangerous than anything he could imagine. As he questions the future and longs for lost friends, he wonders if what he’s doing is right… if he should risk the lives of so many for the life of his mother… if he should continue the journey alone.
The capital, Southwick, is far different than when King Viktor ruled. Danger comes in all shapes and sizes, Magical and non-Magical alike, on the streets, along the Palace Road and in the Palace itself. And a final test awaits that threatens the lives of Jeremus’s closest friends.
Will Jeremus finish collecting the Book’s Magic and return it to King Viktor? Will the Palace be the last stop on his journey? Or will he face a final, unexpected enemy in what he learns to be the most dangerous location of all?
