Acerca de esta escucha

Every new American president has a plan to bring about peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians, and every one fails. Every "peace process" has failed in its primary objective: to establish a stable and lasting accord between the two parties, such that they can live together side-by-side in friendship rather than enmity. But why? And what can be done instead?

The Palestinian Delusion is unique in situating the Israeli/Palestinian conflict within the context of the global jihad that has found renewed impetus in the latter portion of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st. Briskly recounting the tumultuous history of the "peace process", Robert Spencer demonstrates that the determination of diplomats, policymakers, and negotiators to ignore this aspect of the conflict has led the Israelis, the Palestinians, and the world down numerous blind alleys. This has often only exacerbated, rather than healed, this conflict.

The Palestinian Delusion offers a general overview of the Zionist settlement of Palestine, the establishment of the State of Israel, and the Arab Muslim reaction to these events. It explores the dramatic and little-known history of the various peace efforts-showing how and why they invariably broke down or failed to be implemented fully.

A Comprehensive Analysis of alleged Palestinian Contentions and Claims.

Fantastic and well researched book. A clear exposure of fallacies in pro Palestinian arguments. I would love to see a counter argument to this book. However the events of October 7, 2023 have merely reinforced and reconfirmed the issues presented in this book. Excellent book and highly recommended.

Biased, but informative

Interesting book that tells a very different story than the official narrative in Europe

Excellent sobering analysis

It is a great book to get the essence of this current conflict in focus in ones mind.
if you "stand with" either side, it's best to acknowledge the facts. You can react to those facts in different ways but the facts are stubburn things.
Great book, it should be required reading before people comment on X or news sites..

A Learned Interest

Good history of the turmoil in this area of the world. Honestly truthful when it concludes that there is no solution to the conflict between religions and their followers. You can believe in a God but religion is man made and control by man.

One-Sided and Demeaning Perspective

I read this book in order to gain some insight into the current war over Gaza. Robert Spencer is a close associate of David Horowitz and Pamela Gellar, two heavyweights in the anti-islamic Right, both of whom have been censored repeatedly for spreading falsehoods about Muslim history and current governmental arrangements. Spencer's book did not surprise me. He dusts off some viewpoints that are controversial at best, claiming that there are no "Palestinians" as such, that Arabs, Jordanians, Syrians (or whatever label you place on non-Jewish people living in the mideast) have no historic presence in the areas now occupied by Israel. He quotes from the Koran, where it is written that the followers of Mohammed should exterminate infidels, even enlisting rocks and trees to cry out that Jews are hiding behind them. Spencer chronicles the history of modern Israel, insisting that the Jewish state and its allies such as the United States and Britain have always sought peace and cooperation with Muslim nations, only to be victimized by insincere Muslim leaders.

The reader needs to take this volume with a good deal of salt. In Spencer's view, there are no decent Muslims, only brigands, terrorists and liars. While he devotes much space to damning Muslim fundamentalist leaders as scum, there is nothing here about Christian and Jewish fundamentalists who advocate displacing all Muslims from the West Bank and Gaza. While Spencer lacerates the Koran for its violent passages, he says nothing about remarkably similar statements in the Torah and the Christian Old Testament. If you are dismayed about the incredible devastation the current Israeli armed forces are unleashing on the inhabitants of Gaza, you will understand where the irrational hatred comes from that motivates some in Israel and its Arab neighbors to regard genocide as the only solution to problems in the Middle East.

An other excellent book by mr. Spencer. To be informed one must read his books. The narrator was a joy to listen to. Thank you!

Essential reading for all those who wish to understand the Middle East conflict

Well researched with clear statements of facts so often hidden by the media. Extremely enlightening. I am grateful to the writer for giving such a clear understanding of a complex and ongoing problem.

A very succinct review of the history of Israel

This information is critical to understanding "peace" negotiations in the Middle East. This is well presented here and very interesting.

Eye Opening

This book was written in 2019 but is eerily true still in 2023 in light of Oct 7. It should be a must read in high schools and colleges.

Great book. Very informative

This is a great read. Cuts through the nonsense propaganda and tells it like it really is. Jihad is the real problem.
