Acerca de esta escucha
From the bestselling author of The Secret Orphan comes her brand new unputdownable historical fiction novel!
A journey into war, but not one she’ll take alone…
Orphan Kitty Pattison is young, naïve and ready to do her bit for the war effort when she volunteers with the Red Cross and pledges to help those most in need. It’s one of the most nerve-wracking moments of her life, but then she meets fellow volunteers Joan Norfolk and Trixie Dunn, and a bond of friendship is forged in the fire of life on the wards during the Blitz.
Days are spent nursing injured soldiers back to life and nights are spent anticipating bombs falling from the sky and then trawling through the wreckage to save who she can, but the light and laughter she finds with Jo and Trix see Kitty through the darkest hours.
And when Kitty starts growing closer to handsome Canadian doctor Michael McCarthy, it’s her friends who help her to find the courage to realise that no matter what has happened or what is to come, we all deserve love…
This stunning new historical novel from the internationally bestselling The Secret Orphan takes readers on an emotional journey and follows in the footsteps of the brave women who volunteered with the Red Cross during the Second World War.

Historia
Daughters of Eden focuses on the lives and fortunes of four very different young women at the outbreak of the Second World War. Marjorie, left at a boarding school by her emigrating mother; plain Poppy, pushed into marriage with a mean-spirited aristocrat; Kate, despised by her father, but determined to prove herself; and man-mad Lily, who turns out to be the bravest of them all. That all of them are chosen to work undercover for the espionage unit at Eden Park is a surprise, not least to them.

Wonderful story! I want more!
This is a wonderful story about two adult orphans that meet and the events that follow. One fellow reviewer claimed the story wasn’t about orphans, forgetting the main characters are just that! You will enjoy the story of WW II nurses and doctors working to save bomb victims and the picturesque settings in this novel. The ending though wonderfully written left me wanting more. I’m off to search for the sequel now! Purchase and enjoy!

No Orphans Until the Last Hour!
This was just an OK story. There were no orphans introduced until the last hour
Expected more about the orphans and less love story.
I guess this was a set up for the next book in the series.
The narration was listenable but not memorable.

Definitely ChickLit. A weak story.
Very predictable. All the characters except one were seemingly perfect and although it was war time, they all were wonderful. Highly implausible and no real depth.
