Acerca de esta escucha
Three generations, one heartbreaking secret - and the past about to be uncovered …
Jess Penhaligon is on her way to London to receive an award for her botanical painting. Hosting her will be Kate, who gladly welcomes her into her home. Jess' own family fell apart several years ago, so she is grateful for Kate's friendliness - and for her close unit of extended family and friends, who embrace Jess just as warmly.
As the group begins reminiscing about their pasts and sharing their stories with Jess, it becomes apparent that her family history may be linked with theirs. Long-buried secrets from past generations are being uncovered, but at what cost have they been kept hidden?

Historia
In the big old house overlooking the sea, five small children listened as their mother read them a story. Theirs was an idyllic childhood, as they played on the beach, in the gardens and the woods, before the war and other tragedies disrupted their lives. Now, many years later, Nest and Mina still live at their beautiful childhood home, surrounded by the glorious Devon country side. But, when their sister Georgie comes to stay at Ottercombe, memories of their past start to revisit them.

Another Great Read!
Marcia Willett writes a consistently good story and The Sea Garden no exception.. Her character development and wonderful story carry you along with her into a delightful spot in rural England .Her descriptions of the countryside make you fell as if you are there.
I will be looking forward to MORE of Marcia Willet in the future.

Not Willet's best.
Struggled to finish this one. I usually love her books. I used to order them from the UK when they were first released and I couldn't get them in the USA. The story rambled and the characters lacked their usual depth. I found myself not caring about any of them. Was there anyone who didn't have an affair, I found myself asking. I hope this is just a one off. I will listen to her again.

I would pass
I have loved Willett's books, but this one just did not hold my interest. There were too many characters and repeats of the same scene. The reading was difficult to listen to- some of the voices done for the characters were drawn out and awkward. I wish I hadn't purchased this.
