Acerca de esta escucha

The Simulation Hypothesis, by best-selling author, renowned MIT computer scientist, and Silicon Valley video game designer Rizwan Virk, explains one of the most daring and consequential theories of our time.

Drawing from research and concepts from computer science, artificial intelligence, video games, quantum physics, and referencing both speculative fiction and ancient eastern spiritual texts, Virk shows how all of these traditions come together to point to the idea that we may be inside a simulated reality like the Matrix.

The Simulation Hypothesis is the idea that our physical reality, far from being a solid physical universe, is part of an increasingly sophisticated video game-like simulation, where we all have multiple lives, consisting of pixels with its own internal clock run by some giant Artificial Intelligence. Simulation theory explains some of the biggest mysteries of quantum and relativistic physics, such as quantum indeterminacy, parallel universes, and the integral nature of the speed of light.

“There’s a one in a billion chance we are not living in a simulation.” (Elon Musk)

“I find it hard to argue we are not in a simulation.” (Neil deGrasse Tyson)

“We are living in computer generated reality.” (Philip K. Dick)

Video game designer Riz Virk shows how the history and evolution of our video games, including virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing could lead us to the point of being able to develop all encompassing virtual worlds like the Oasis in Ready Player One, or the simulated reality in The Matrix.

While the idea sounds like science fiction, many scientists, engineers, and professors have given the simulation hypothesis serious consideration. But the simulation hypothesis is not just a modern idea. Philosophers and mystics of all traditions have long contended that we are living in some kind of “illusion“ and that there are other realities which we can access with our minds.

Whether you are a computer scientist, a fan of science fiction like The Matrix movies, a video game enthusiast, or a spiritual seeker, The Simulation Hypothesis touches on all these areas, and you will never look at the world the same way again!

The Best Simulation Hypothesis Book Out There!!!!!

Absolutely brilliant and captivating. Riz integrates computer science, technology, math, and quantum physics seamlessly to paint a new, exciting , and beautiful picture of our reality. The philosophical and spiritual implications are explored, arriving at the most inspiring takeaway that is: In an information based simulated multiverse where all quantum probabilities exist, all things are scientifically possible in our world. Thank you, Riz, for this groundbreaking work!!!!!!

Undeniable wishful thinking

It is not science, but uses science facts to tell a story. Can enhance conspiracy

Excellent Explanation of the Simulation Hypothesis

I really enjoyed the detailed explanation of the Simulation Hypothesis. The book meticulously goes through all the evidence in an entertaining style. Follow the white rabbit.

Chicken and the Egg

Finally the paradox has been uncovered- the Chicken was rendered first and the egg was the code correction.

I will be reading everything Mr. Virk has created he is a genius.

I would highly recommend a listen and read of this material.

Author or Editor of the recording needs to fix the audio;

Certain words are repeated as if they couldn’t take the time to hire someone to listen to the content from a listeners POV.
Interesting theories. Other than the problems with the audio. It was concise and easy to understand if someone has never delved into quantum physics or simulation theories. I would of rated it higher had the audio been better. How hard is it to hire someone to listen to your book before you put it on audio form? It’s sloppy and makes me wonder how thorough your research was.
The only other thing I wish was the illustrations from the actual book could have been included in the audio form as an attachment. Many other audible books include that.

Our souls download and upload

A simulation explains what religion cannot. The question remains are we a simulation within a simulation or where is reality located?

Strong theory

Worth your time. Well written, it’s a strong argument that ties many lines of metaphysics together.

Too repetitive

By the end, I felt that it was way too long of a book. Many topics were rehashed over and over.

Interesting but argument full of problems

Jumps to conclusions. Blindly accepts assumptions because it fits his worldview. Confuses correlation with causation. Lacking in scientific rigor. Lacking in understanding and/or knowledge of evidence for a materialistic explanation of consciousness. Seems ignorant of and ignores the neurological argument for consciousness. Lack of discussion of alternative models that would refute his pet hypothesis. Arguments against a materialistic worldview based on questionable interpretations of quantum physics experiments. Confuses terms between observer and detector. Uses a lot of pseudoscientific models for explaining his IDEAS. Piling layers upon layers of poorly tested ideas and misinformed beliefs into one big logical mess. Assumes ALOT.

Having said that. There are alot of interesting IDEAS in the book. I learn some new leads to look for in terms of understanding an idealistic / simulation hypothesis point of view. Physics experiments to read up on to further understand his point of view / how he is confused about reality and consciousness.

His ideas about simulation hypothesis did stimulate alot of thoughts.

As almost all things in life, the author speaks some truth here and there, and there are some gold idea and facts in the pile to pick out. I recommend the reader approach this book with a mixture of open-mindedness and skepticism.

Thought Porn

This book is pure thought porn, it really opens your mind to these ideas and makes sense of the insensible. It’s great for giving you a new/different outlook on life and world we are in, in a way that makes sense.

1 downside is that the narrator is terrible
