An Excellent Follow-up to The 2006 Original

This is an excellent guidebook reinforcing our path forward while making clear what changes have occured. It's great to see a summary of our progress and tie it to how our relatively optimistic future will take hold.

Great book and excellent narration.

Makes me eager for the 2045 book. Hopefully written by Ray.

Largely a rehash of its predecessor, but that in itself is a remarkable reminder that the 2005 book proved accurate.

The Singularity is Near was one of the best books ever written. it presented new ideas with lots of data and was way ahead of its time in 2005. I have read all of Ray's books including his PhD thesis. This book seemed to have the least new information. Maybe I'm just super tuned in to what's been going on lately. Recently Ray has been touting how good his predictions were... and that's correct if not humble....I guess I was expecting more predictions in this book about the Singularity itself. So maybe I hyped it up too much.... but it didn't really meet my expectations.

The author presents a vision where humans merge with ai. His humanistic view of the future is one of both hope and optimism.

The author is providing on overview of his future vision and tends to downplay the risks posed by ai and who decides how it is used and to who’s benefit.
