When Beth Larson answered an advertisement for a mail order bride, she hoped for a new future, one where she would be loved. She never imagined the brute she became betrothed to.
Beth Larson is dismayed to discover that not only has she been deceived by her future father-in-law, but that his son despises everything about her.
Destined to be married to Tom, a callous and crude rancher, Beth waits in hopes of change, but the only kindness she receives is from his older brother Jed.
Jed Davis is horrified at the deception Beth has received at the hands of his father. He can't stand the thought she is marry his vulgar younger brother. As Jed watches in dismay at the cruel taunts and jibes that Beth is subjected to, he undertakes to help the hapless girl in whatever way he can, but he didn’t reckon on the strong feelings he develops for her.
As Tom continues his vicious campaign to humiliate the bride he never wanted, Jed devises a plan to rescue her, now Tom’s ire is fueled even further and he plans a horrific event to ensure Beth’s life is left in ruins.
