Slow to start, but very good mystery
This is a long book, and it takes a while for all the elements of the story to come together. However, it is a very good story and interesting mystery. This Audible narration is great; there is a cast of narrators for each of the character's whose voices are represented in the story. Given the time period in which it was written, it is not surprising that the story is full of sexism as well as some racism. However, if you can take those elements for what they are, I would definitely recommend the story.

Story was a page turner!
I swapped between reading and listening to this book using whisper sync. It was wonderful. The story was gripping and the language beautifully written.
