Engaging plot, well-researched historical information
The interaction between the two sisters, their lives in different warring countries during WW 2, the painfully tragic results of that war are wonderfully described in this extraordinary historical novel.

The Rubik’s cube of WWII
Two British sisters in 1936, one ends up in Berlin, the other in Paris. As WWII unfolds, this is their story.
Like most novels it has some twists a nd turns and , in the end, it’s an interesting and fun listen.

Almost stopped, but couldn't.
The story was very good and I could not stop listening, but I almost stopped because of the performance. Especially the portion from the modem day. The young adult woman sounded like a child.

Naive political comparisons
The book had a somewhat interesting plot. But I immensely disliked the manner in which the author included her not so thinly veiled comparisons of President Trump to Hitler.
