Acerca de esta escucha

Quarry doesn't kill just anybody these days. He restricts himself to targeting other hitmen, availing his marked-for-death clients of two services: eliminating the killers sent after them, and finding out who hired them…and then removing that problem as well. So far he's rid of the world of nobody who would be missed. But this time he finds himself zeroing in on the grieving family of a missing cheerleader. Does the hitman's hitman have the wrong quarry in his sights?

One of the best quarry, plot lines

Very enjoyable book, seems like a lot more characters than normal quarry novels, but easy to follow them all. Really excellent plot line and twists throughout.

Quarry is always worth it

It's always great to see a new Quarry. The Quarry books are dark, different - and always a lot of fun. Quarry is an assassin with a good side - which sounds entirely odd, but works very, very well.

In this book, he's changed his job a bit and rather than being a killer for hire, he's stalking them. You'll be guessing right up to the end.

Dan John Miller does a fantastic job, as he has done with all of the Max Allan Collin books.

But It Feels So Right

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you love your crime fiction and thrillers in the hard-boiled variety with a healthy dose of sardonic wit thrown in, you'll love this.

What did you like best about this story?

At first glance, the characters might look like cardboard cutouts from some run-of-the-mill dimestore novel, but Collins breathes life into each of them in a way that makes all the quick-witted dialogue and snappy one-liners feel completely genuine.

What about Dan John Miller’s performance did you like?

A really good job in capturing Quarry's voice that really complemented Collins' writing. Easy enough to get caught up in the story as if being told in the dingy corner of a bar by Quarry himself. The female voices were a bit of a stretch, but nothing to the point of distraction.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Oh, there were a couple of moments that caused outright laughter with Quarry's witty observations, plus a surprise that knocked me on my heels towards the end.

Any additional comments?

My first Quarry experience turned out to be a memorable one, so now I need to go back and start reading--or listening to--the backlist.
