first in a new series

This is a short novella size read / listen that had a bit of a stockholm syndrome scenario but overall had a heartwarming ending. This was the story of a Queens Guard getting kidnapped by Garet who's part of a race known for their pillaging. As you read / listen you can't help but love Garet because of his devotion and selflessness. Good storyline flow with action, danger and a hea. Narration was very well done. An overall good listen and I'm looking forward to more!

Yes, because of the suspense of what happens next.

Thief of Hearts

I really enjoyed all of the books in this series so it was fun to go back to this one. Give them a try and you will not be disappointed. Angel Clark did a very good job with the narration. I received this free copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Very Enjoyable!

This is what I love!
A whole lot of romance, while being light on the drama.
I love the story, writing style, worldbuilding and narration. It's romantic and fun.
Listening to Book 1 now, and it is great! Just as romantic and enjoyable as this novella.
Highly recommended!

I absolutely loved this book!!

Alna may have refused Garred at first but a love like there's just was meant to be. The Pruxnae custom definitely helped this along but they were definitely soul mates. His patience and her willfulness were a perfect match.

Duty v's Love....

This was my first book from this author and I liked the story. However, I didn't care for the narrators voice. Alna is committed to fulfilling her duties as a guard. Gared is determined to do what he is known best for and steal what he wants, and what he wants is Alna. Their journey is one of action, determination, consequences and love. Alna is determined to go back home and Gared is determined to do what needs to be done to prove to Alna that she is the woman for him. Alna must decide if loving Gared is worth giving up everything she's ever dreamed of. The ending was sweet and I'm looking forward to the next book in this series.

To the beginning.

Going back to the beginning to hear Alna's story was good. Having already listened to 2 books in the series, it's fun to see how she was brought into the way of life and taken out of her "plans". As always with these books, the women have realistic reactions to these men and their kidnapping ways. I like that about this series!
