Empowering and Uplifting for HSPs

This audiobook is a powerful guide for anyone who identifies as a highly sensitive person (HSP). The author’s approach to self-discovery and self-acceptance is both compassionate and practical. I especially appreciated the focus on embracing your true self without feeling overwhelmed or apologetic. The strategies for managing sensitivity positively have been transformative for me. The narrator’s soothing voice makes the experience even more impactful. I feel more confident and empowered to live authentically after listening to this.

HSP ameliorator

I once had a student who would apologize profusely for each and every thing. I would always try to teach them that they need not apologize all the time. But it stands to reason that highly sensitive people may find this urge quite often, which is why I find it fantastic that Sara Martinez has address these kinds of behaviors, mindsets, and actions in her wonderful book ‘Thrive as a highly sensitive person’. Along with excellent insider’s knowledge of what it’s like to be a highly sensitive person (HSP), Martinez shares insights and ameliorative strategies that are sure to combat shyness, overwhelm, being misunderstood, and so much more, all with compassionate and a willingness to help those of us who fit into the HSP category, and, as I have discovered from reading this book, is a whooping 20% of us! Thank you Martinez

This book is an authentic resource for those seeking to embrace self-discovery, acceptance and their unique sensitivity. What i like about this book is the emphasize on not apologizing for our uniqueness, everybody is different and we should be proud of our self, and on who we truly are. Well-researched, written and narrated in a clear and easy to understand language making this book accessible for anyone looking to thrive in their unique sensitivity. Well done, 5 stars all the way!!

Very Informative

I’m not a highly sensitive person but this audiobook did a great job of explaining them and how and why they may seem a certain way or act a certain way. Having this book had helped me to relate better to HSP’s since there are a few in my life. I recommend for HSP’s and non HSP’s.

gather all the info you need on HSPs

The narration of this audiobook is excellent. The narrator's voice is enjoyable to listen to, and the pace seems perfect. I found myself completely immersed for hours. The cover is also extremely appealing-simple yet elegant. While listening to this audiobook, I felt the author talking directly to me. They were spot on as far as checking all the boxes for what makes someone a highly sensitive person. I was diagnosed with GAD some years ago, so for me, it was validating listening to some of the struggles HSPs go through. To know you're not alone in how you feel about yourself is vindicating. I love how the author took a deeper dive into mental health disorders that correlate to HSP. Autism is one of those spectrums where some HSPs may be autistic, but not all HSPs are. Overall, this audiobook is outstanding for anyone looking to improve their quality of life by not feeling as overwhelmed.

Empowering and Inspiring!

What a beautifully written book. There is so much need for this information, especially in the world we are living in now. The author takes you on a journey of understanding what it means to be an HSP, whether that's you or a loved one, and helps you recognize the importance of self-acceptance. The compassion with which the information is presented along with the practical tools and strategies make this book an incredible resource. Highly recommend!

Beautiful

This was a very enlightening listen. I was brought up to be tough and told all-too-often to "toughen up" and that I was too sensitive, so this book was like taking a deep breath after being held under water for too long. I'm glad that books like this one are shedding light on what it means to be like this, the implications of being highly sensitive in a society that values the opposite. Sensitivity can be a strength, an important asset and quality, and this listen showed me how to return to self by making this aspect seen and valued. Beautiful book!

Great look at a group of misunderstood people!

I really enjoyed listening to this book. As an adult on the autism spectrum, I especially enjoyed and connected with the section comparing and sharing the similarities between people with autism and HSPs. There's a lot of great information in general, even if you are not a highly sensitive person.
