Üble Zeitgenossen foltern vor laufender Kamera Menschen und bieten die Bilder dieser brutalen Tat im Internet zum Verkauf an, als sogenannte "Snuff Movies". Autor Mark Roderick traut sich mit "Tränen aus Blut (Post Mortem 1)" an einen sehr düsteren, abgründigen Stoff, den er zudem mit einem sehr ungewöhnlichen Ermittler-Duo kombiniert.
Ein Journalist, der einem besonders miesen Exemplar eines solchen Serienmörders auf der Spur ist, wird selbst getötet. Er schafft es vorher noch, eine Nachricht an seinen Bruder Avram Kuyper abzusetzen. Dass dieser selbst ein berufsmäßiger Serienkiller ist, verleiht dem Thriller einen raffinierten doppelten Boden. Mit im Bunde ist die unbestechliche Interpol-Agentin Emilia Ness, die in dem Fall mit einem Kriminellen kooperieren muss, der auf Rache statt auf Polizeiarbeit sinnt.
Richard Barenberg findet als Sprecher des ungekürzten Hörbuchs "Tränen aus Blut (Post Mortem 1)" von Mark Roderick immer den richtigen Ton für den nervenzerrenden Thriller aus der abgründigen Hölle menschlicher Gier.
