In 2074 New York City, Regal Manager Leona has taken advantage of the devastated country and claimed the city for her own kingdom. She controls her people by threat of the portal—a gateway to a black hole created in a project to deflect its pull on Earth. Roxy and a bunker full of kids were hidden below the streets of Manhattan when their parents fought and died in the Resistance sixteen years earlier.
Now Morris, their protector, is dead, and Roxy is in charge. She knows they can't stay hidden forever, and based on info from her source and friend, Levi, Leona is closing in. Roxy and Levi can't imagine the journey they'll take when they inevitably stand before the portal. Who will be waiting on the other side? Should Roxy trust Levi, a citadel soldier? Imaginative, Fantasy and Futuristic
This story captivated my imagination of a future world with good and evil present, while emphasizing freedom and love. The struggle between good and evil in past and present worlds demonstrated how precious freedom is and that we must love one another to unite in freedom. The author did an excellent job narrating the book. It's a compelling story and kept my interest.

M.K. Parsons successfully writes a story with interesting characters and a plot that keeps the reader interested. This is a book that you won't want to press pause on.
