Resumen del Editor

From Colleen Hoover, the #1 New York Times bestselling author of It Ends With Us, a heart-wrenching love story that proves attraction at first sight can be messy.

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn't think it's love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

Better Male Narrator

Grace Grant was excellent as always. I just wish the would've picked a better narrator for Miles. I almost didn't think I would finish because his voice is so whiney. I did however skip a lot of the Miles parts.

Good book

Any additional comments?

I love Colleen Hoover. The book was good. She never fails to keep me captivated. There was just a little something missing in the love connection between Tate and Miles. Maybe it was because most of the "love story" was focused on the Rachael story. But 4 - 4.5 stars because Colleen is a great storyteller. And for some reason the male narrator sounded like John Malkovich to me. So, in my head, Miles was the weird serial killer guy from Con Air.

Ugly Cry!

Any additional comments?

I love CoHo books, she makes you feel the same intensity that you feel when you are in the movie theater with deep bass and the giant screen and all of your senses completely absorbed by it. That is exactly what a CoHo book does to me and Ugly Love is no different.

I found myself completely sucked into Miles and Tate. My heart breaking for Miles and my heart breaking for Tate, but in completely different ways. Tate, getting her masters in nursing and such a strong woman. Willing to put her heart as sacrifice to Miles, that is so destroyed from his past... there is no recovering.

Luckily, because she is CoHo, we get a lot of humor sprinkled in. Almost wholly stemming from Cap, a well meaning doorman that mostly works evening when all the action is happening.

This book is filled with laughs, cries, drama, angst and a whole lotta love. Totally credit worthy.

The narration from Grace Grant is amazing. She completely sucked me in and held me there. Deacon's narration was a little old sounding for the 18 year old he was portraying but I do think he pulled off the immature lilt of an adolescent. By the end, when he was portraying the adult Miles, his voice had lost that immaturity and although subtle, I did notice.

Enjoyable

What made the experience of listening to Ugly Love the most enjoyable?

The story was pretty good, but I really loved Grace Grant's narration. She did a better job of portraying Miles than Deacon Lee.

What did you like best about this story?

Grace Grant is phenomenal, she brought the characters to life with a likable flare, endearing....

What does Grace Grant and Deacon Lee bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Tate has a great sense of humor that I don't think could be fully appreciated without Grace Grant's narration. I have to say I don't like Deacon Lee's voice. I'm glad he portrayed Miles at a younger age because I don't think he could have carried the weight of the adult Miles.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I enjoyed Tate, She was believable, likable, witty and realistic. Other characters were likable too as they were brought to life by Grace Grant.

Colleen Never Disappoints Me.

This isn't so much a review of the book, as you will get the gist of it from other reviewers/readers, as it is a review of Colleen. I want to discuss Colleen, as a writer, a storyteller. I have read enough New Adult Romance Novels to get a pretty good idea of who I like and don't like. Colleen is one of the few NAR writers that I will preorder a book without qualms. I have read all her books and REbought several of her books in audible form to "reread". While I won't say every book she writes is my favorite, I will say that many of them are my favorites, enough to reread. Ugly Love and Hopeless series are among the top for me. She is funny, but not all the time. She is serious, and simple, and complex. I simply cannot articulate her style, but she delves deep without pretense. She tells a good story, no matter the subject matter. There is something just different enough to separate her from other NAR writers and it's refreshing. Yes, you get the formulaic HEA ending, but each of her books is NOT a repeat of the last. Each story line stands alone. I get so tired of authors who write too quickly just to punch out the next novel only to repeat the same old style and story with different characters. I have fallen prey, but not with Colleen. She has kept me interested. And isn't that the point of a good writer?

You will cry: but some of them happy and some sad.

Wonderful story. Beautiful characters unfold. Didn't want it to end. Only thing was Miles voice... I don't believe he matched the character.

Ugly love=broken frustrated heart

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes because it was a good heart wrenching story. You felt bad for Tate, you got frustrated and angry with Miles. You wanted Tate to tell him off, but then again you had to say Miles was upfront and honest with her the whole entire time.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Ugly Love?

When Miles said to Tate, "I can't love you, but if I could, you would be the person I would fall in love with" I knew he was hooked it just took him a while to get on the same page.

What about Grace Grant and Deacon Lee ’s performance did you like?

I love Grace Grant, she is fabulous! At first I did not care for Deacon's portrayal, I found him annoying. But then when you gauge his performance based upon the difficult trauma Miles went through it all came together. I would say his performance grew on me. I was surprised that I did not like him at first because I do have other books by Deacon that I enjoyed.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes because I was trying to figure out who the hell Rachel was and what happened to her.
