Acerca de esta escucha

From the author of The Land Uncharted and Uncharted Redemption comes the third book in the Uncharted series, Uncharted Inheritance. Written like a historical, set like a sci-fi, and filled with romance, Uncharted Inheritance concludes this suspenseful story of life in a hidden land.

Bethany Colburn finally turns 18, and Everett Foster is about to confess his love for her. When a new man arrives in the village of Good Springs, he brings charm Bethany has never encountered and illness the Land has never known. While the medicinal power of the gray leaf tree is put to the test and the Colburn family's strength is stretched thin, Bethany must learn to protect her true inheritance.

Uncharted Inheritance weaves heartbreak and hope while delivering long-awaited answers in this suspenseful story of life in a hidden land.

The Land continues to deliver

If you could sum up Uncharted Inheritance in three words, what would they be?

gripping, enlightening, courage

What other book might you compare Uncharted Inheritance to and why?

This book is so unique, I don't wish to compare it to another. It is a story that reminds me of the Mennonite friends I had as a child and how much I enjoyed sharing their lifestyle. The people of The Land provide insight into what life could be like if we embraced a more simplistic lifestyle and yet some of the same issues of the value of women do arise as we watch some extremely strong women in books 1 & 3 as they come of age.

Which character – as performed by Dara Kramer – was your favorite?

Dara presents the story with so much emotion you don't think about individual voices. Her delivery reminds me of sitting in rapt attention as a dear friend or relative tells a story of a time long-past.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did, but life happened. I did listen to the entire book over a two-day period. I couldn't wait any longer!

Any additional comments?

This was a beautiful 3rd volume of the Uncharted Series, following The Land Uncharted and Uncharted Redemption. Bethany Coburn is finally coming of age as she begins to understand her best friend, Everett Foster is seeing her as more than a friend. We glimpse Justin Mercer again as he continues to search for the invisible or lost island he is sure his friend Connor made it onto when their plane goes down in the ocean. The Land has been shielded from the rest of the world for such a long time that no diseases exist there. Will Mercer's obsession of finding the Village of Good Springs and his friend bring an illness that no one there can survive? Keely Brooke Keith provided a copy of this audio book in exchange for an honest review. I must say, after reading the first two books in the series, I would have gladly purchased it on my own. You will not be disappointed with this beautiful series and the lessons of good, evil, hope, courage, and inspiration you will learn from it.

Learning A Lesson

The narrator had a very pleasant voice and I enjoyed the audiobook. Another interesting story about the people of the land. I love the ways of the people and the simplicity of their life. I love the way the men take care of their womenfolk and the way the women respect their men. There are lessons to learn in this story about being wrong and admitting it to forgiveness and learning respect for each other. I loved that Bethany learned an important lesson. The characters are actually complex and is more than what just meets the eye. A book with hope that they can keep their land hidden to the outside world.
If you like a clean book with a little romance that is a little different read, this book and the others about the land is for you.

Coming of age/historical romance/sci fi

This is book three in the Uncharted trilogy. This story focusses on the third Colburn child, Bethany. It is a coming of age story, written like a historical romance in a science fiction setting - which sounds a bit crazy, but Keely pulls it off amazingly.

The suspense from the first two books comes to a head. Justin, who we have had teasers from in the previous books epilogues, finally arrives on The Land. I always knew he would make it and had certain expectations of what I thought would happen when he got there. Once I started reading this book though, I also bonded with Everett. I kept flicking back and forth about who I wanted Bethany to choose. You will have to read it to find out! But I was very happy with how it all played out.

One concept that I enjoyed seeing explained was how a modern man saw the women of The Land as being controlled by the men and not being equal. The women of The Land didn't feel they were being controlled and felt equal to the men, but acknowledged their differences. A man protecting a woman was an act of love not of power.

I listened to the audiobook edition, which I received free in exchange for an honest review. The narrator of this book spoke clearly and at a good pace.
