Resumen del Editor

Long have we been alone; without brides, without females to warm us during the long nights, without sweet mates.

But we see them from afar, the brides that could be ours. Kept away from us by walls and weapons. Females we long for greatly...obsessively. Human females. And the one with red hair? I want her. I saw her first.

I will fight to the death for her. She is mine. So, we’ll come together and make an exchange with their men that will benefit us all. After that? To the winner goes the spoil. Let the hunt begin...but the red-headed female is mine.

Viper is the first book in Naga Brides, a series about bride-hunting aliens with the charm of a snake, the wiles of the devil, and the will to do anything for their females.

Different Aliens

Wow, I enjoyed the nagas being on earth. My curiosity triggers the desire to learn how they came to be. Are they from the eggs? I love the male narrator’s voice and execution of a snake speaking English. I appreciated hearing the naga’s story. They make for interesting mates.

Not going to judge the series on this first book

I feel like Naomi Lucas just needed to commit to a Omegaverse story instead of this pale imitation of one. It is somewhat rapey and the consent or the 'I'm ok with this' always comes after the sex, almost like things are out of order. Then there is the knotting, the rutting, and the passing mention of going into heat but all done in this noncommittal way hence the knockoff Omegaverse feel. Since I recently relistened to the Milana Jacks Alpha Hord series, it's hard not to see some missed opportunities in the story due to the lack of just going all in.

I did like the world building. I both loved and hated the characters and gave the FMC a lot of leeway since this is thousands of years in the future with life being limited to missing a futuristic history and only her experiences being life on a starship. But yeah, the irony was not lost on me when the career communications officer states that communication is hard.

In general I mostly enjoyed it and the narrators and I'm down for the series. Hopefully the next book King Cobra will give the male a different personality at the very least to make it more compelling.

Absolutely loved this!

I love this series and bought the audiobook series to listen to when I’m busy. I loved both of the narrators! Loved the voices and they did an amazing job! I definitely recommend

Ok

Book was okay but didn’t hold my attention as others in this genre. Narrators did a good job with characters; as best they could with storyline. I like a little humor added to the story.

Nice

I didn’t think I was going to like this series of books but from the first one which for me is this book I was hooked. So far I have listened to all that is available and waiting for the new one to come out.

I just keep listening to it!

This story checked every box for me. Dominant male, female who isn't a push-over, exotic locale and SPICE. I always get captured (haha) by Naomi Lucas books. This one is fabulous and I cannot recommend it strongly enough!

Post-apocalypse Earth!

The following ratings are out of 5:
Narration: 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Romance: 💚🖤💙❤️💜
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙📘📔
World building: 🌏🌍🌎🌏
Character development: 😚🙂😁😍🥰

The heroine: Gemma - she is on a mission to Earth to get technology to beat the alien menace who have been attacking them. She and a few other women board a ship to Earth to make a deal with the Naga, who are snakelike people with the technology much of the galaxy has wanted. However, she is distraught when she sees a red Naga male looking at her through the jungle.

The Hero: Vruksha - He is a pit viper and of the Naga who rule their own lands but need mates. They thought the humans were long gone. They have never seen a live human being until recently when they landed on a spaceship deep in the mountains of Earth. They and their robots restored the ruins into what it was, a military facility. Early on he sees a woman with Red Hair like his tail.

The Story: The Naga make a deal with the human men to fight for the right to claim human women as brides in order to propagate their species. There are many Naga males but only two human females. So they have to chase the women and fight for them in order to claim the humans.

Vruksha has known since he first saw Gemma that she was his. He has no fear of fighting for the right to claim her. Though Gemma has worked hard to get where she was at, in the position of communications director on the bridge of the Dreadknot. She intended to keep her position, not be traded as nothing but flesh for the Naga.

This book was told in dual points of view via dual narration. John Masterson and Elizabeth Hart are the narrators and they both do a good job. John Masterson speaks with a bit of a stilted voice which is common for the narration of alien males. He also does a bit of a hiss at times which works well for Vruksha. Elizabeth has a strong, clear voice which matches Gemma perfectly.

The story is original for alien romance. The fact that it takes place on Earth in the distant future and the Naga are the species that are native to the planet while the humans come in a spaceship is different than any book I have read before and is quite interesting.

honestly really liked it!

I just started getting into alien romances and I really enjoyed this, I will be purchasing the next book to continue I want to know what happens next since this one ends on cliffhanger. I am not even mad about it but I wish these books were all in a bundle together. Anyways really liked it!
