Eight-year-old Blythe Cheatham's charming story follows a young, green bird named Chippers on a journey of self-discovery. On a sunny day, Chippers leaves her nest to explore and meets various birds, each time questioning her own identity. From Milly, the blue jay, to a white duck, a goose, and even a pink flamingo, each encounter leaves Chippers more curious about who she is. Guided by the advice to visit a zoo, Chippers meets different birds, including a canary and a toucan, but none resemble her. Only when she meets a group of parrots does Chippers finally discovers she is a parrot, too. Delighted, she returns home to share her newfound identity with her mother. This heartwarming tale teaches young listeners about the importance of self-exploration and the joy of discovering one's true identity.
